that worthless piece of shit that pretends to be Secretary of State is shoe shopping in New York City. Go to Gawker.com to read about Condi’s excellent New York City adventure. She apprently got to yuck it up at Spamalot too. But Condi’s shopping adventure wasn’t uneventful. Gawker reports: Just moments ago at the Ferragamo on 5th Avenue, Condoleeza Rice was seen spending several thousands of dollars on some nice, new shoes (we’ve confirmed this, so her new heels will surely get coverage from the WaPo’s Robin Givhan). A fellow shopper, unable to fathom the absurdity of Rice’s timing, went up to the Secretary and reportedly shouted, “How dare you shop for shoes while thousands are dying and homeless!” Never one to have her fashion choices questioned, Rice had security PHYSICALLY REMOVE the woman.
I am beyond appalled.
Gina NYC, thank you for your concern. The tide is changing. The greedy and insensitive will be the ones to…realize, and know, and possibly suffer.
I just got back from dinner with friends, one of whom is from Baton Rouge. His parents lucked out. They didn’t even get rain (I think he said they were on the east side of town…not sure), but other parts of Baton Rouge got damage. Anyhow, he mentioned a couple of things I hadn’t heard. 1) Someone’s brother-in-law is at a small funeral parlor somewhere in the affected area (but not New Orleans) and he said that there were 200 bodies stacked up in the funeral home’s parking lot. 2) There are cars on portions of I-10 that collapsed. People are wondering whether it was likely that with the rain and winds those people in the cars saw that the span they were on collapsed and were able to stop in time. Or, and this is speculation, were there other cars stopped in front of them. If there were other cars, where are they now? The fear is that there are cars in Lake Ponchatrain and no one knows yet since they haven’t been able to do the damage assessment. The numbers of dead could get much much higher.
