I’m attending the Oregon Summit, the biennial off-year gathering of Democrats in Oregon.
Ambassador Joseph Wilson has attended the Summit and gave the keynote address last night. Although he didn’t present any startling news about indictments, his descriptions of the events made a lot of things clearer for me. He also had some really interesting things to say about the situation in Iraq.
I don’t have time to write about the speech as we have more events this morning, but we did get it on video and it’s available in Quicktime. Here’s the link:
Next time please record directly from the board instead of the room, if that’s possible. Nice website.
We would have liked to, but it wasn’t possible in this case.
This was sort of an experiment for us, but we wanted to make the information available to Democrats (especially Oregon Dems) who couldn’t afford the conference or couldn’t come for another reason.
It’s been a learning experience, and I’m sure we’ll get better at it. I’d like to see other Democratic organizations do this more often.
Check out the speech by John Kitzhaber (former governor of Oregon) at the same place. It was a serious dose of plain truth!
Just so ya know, the DNC network capability (audio, video, net) is perfectly suited to running those speeches. And needs to. If you have time, please take a look at what they have.
On the site: Kitzhaber’s speech points to the profound disconnect between the stratified air in D.C., and the grounded and pragmatic people representing us at the State/local level. Yes please, I’ll have another.
I’m not quite sure how we’d access this from Oregon.
Poor planning on our part limited quality. I apologize, because I think a lot of these folks had good things to say. We’ll continue to put up more video. Rep. Peter DeFazio also gave a good speech, as did Jefferson Smith.
