Merry Fitzmas Everybody!

cross-posted at dembloggers.com and my blog

The reason for the season is treason, and what a Fitzmas this will be!  Cheney might even   retire!

A Fitzmas poem for all the kids:

The aspens are turning
liars’ pants are burning
Fitzgerald is tightening the screws.

Hannah has sung,
and now Wurmser’s tongue
also helps place the clues.

Chalabi and WHIG and PNAC
wanted to run the middle east
and so sought all the lies they could use.

“Saddam is a turrrist,
we’d best get him first
before he blows his fuse!”

“Iraq, 9/11, Niger yellowcake!
Aluminum tubes for mushroom clouds he’ll make!”
And the media fell for the ruse.

But Wilson debunked their Niger claim
so they outed Ms. Valerie Plame
thinking the tiff would diffuse.

But Fitzgerald is tough
and he’s called their bluff
and now it appears they will lose.

The White House is sweating
to them, it’s upsetting
that we have heard of this news.

It seems that Bush knew
of the deeds of his crew
and Fitzgerald is dropping the shoes.

Indictments are looming
turd blossom ain’t blooming
the whole group is singing the blues.

On joyous Fitzmas day
not too far away,
they’ll be frogmarched away by the twos!

And, of course, no celebration would be complete without Fitzmas carols!

Fa la la la la and

Yes, that’s Baghdad Judy, self-serving hack.

1984 is HERE !!

Update [2005-10-20 13:37:26 by shirlstars]: Thanks to those in the know, we find out this is a hoax. But there are some good comments in the comment section that you might want to read anyway.]

I came across this article from a newsletter that I subscribe to.  This is generally a very reliable source of information.

I am not a techie by any stretch of the imagination.  But those of you who are may be able to asses this information and let us know if it is a probable or likely  situation we should all be aware of.

Frankly, I am so suspicious and skeptical of this administration that I have no reservations in believing it is true.

Plamegate: Rove Fingered Libby?

Hot off the AP wire:

WASHINGTON – Top White House aides Karl Rove and I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby discussed their contacts with reporters about an undercover CIA officer in the days before her identity was published, the first known intersection between two central figures in the criminal leak investigation.

Rove told grand jurors it was possible he first heard in the White House that Valerie Plame, wife of Bush administration Joseph Wilson, worked for the CIA from Libby’s recounting of a conversation with a journalist, according to people familiar with his testimony.

They said Rove testified that his discussions with Libby before Plame’s CIA cover was blown were limited to information reporters had passed to them. Some evidence prosecutors have gathered conflicts with Libby’s account.

Hmmm…interesting twist. Rove spoke to Libby who talked about his conversation with a journalist? Judith Miller?

Time for Colin Powell to fess up

I just came across this link to an absolutely damning story in the Financial Times – courtesy BuzzFlash.
One of Powell’s senior aides speaks up and it puts Cheney & Co in a bad light.  As well as Powell.  More below.

Iraq: Most Corrupt Country in the Middle East

Should we be surprised? Probably not. Should we be concerned? Absolutely. And, what is the Bush administration doing about it? Nothing.

Via the Christian Science Monitor:

The Pentagon agency in charge of investigating abuse and fraud in the spending of Department of Defense funds in Iraq actually “quietly left” the country a year ago. The Knight Ridder Washington Bureau reports that both government and public experts say this decision has left large gaps in “the oversight of how more than $140 billion is being spent.”

The DoD dropped the ball on this one claiming that other congressional agencies could handle the oversight. “But experts say those other agencies don’t have the expertise, access and broad mandate that the inspector general has – and don’t make their reports public.”

$140 billion ending up who knows where?

Unbelievable.
