Oh my fucking god, I think Pete Sessions just outdid Jean Schultz. He just used the death of senator inouye’s wife to make a political point that senator inouye risked his life in world war two and had the right to expect Congress to support him, but Russ is not supporting our troops in Iraq because he wants to censor the President.
Why are you surprised? These individuals will use anything to achieve their goal. No respect of person, no respect of law, no respect of life, except their way or the highway. They claim to be the moral ones, but their actions are nothing but bile and poison to us all. Their goals and objectives are based on their needs, not our needs. I am not surprised at all. I am disappointed, but not surprised.
Russ spoke truth and it takes a lot of lies to hide the truth. I believe that we will see more in future days. My prayer is that the light of truth will finally show itself and no matter what is said or done, justice will be served.
Sorry to jump in like this but this is interesting. I was watching Prision Break on Faux, and they swore in spanish. They said coño. Already emailed Keith Oberman with the quotation.I guess it is time to enforce the FCC rules and have them fine Fox

After reading this gem provided by Jane Hamsher, Firedoglake I’m thinking how we can invite Joe Lieberman to take a hike, go make it official with the other party.
U.S. Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman, who often takes a conservative line on social issues, is facing a liberal Democratic primary challenge from wealthy Greenwich businessman Ned Lamont. But that hasn’t stopped Lieberman from supporting the approach of the Catholic hospitals when it comes to contraceptives for rape victims.
Lieberman said he believes hospitals that refuse to give contraceptives to rape victims for “principled reasons” shouldn’t be forced to do so. “In Connecticut, it shouldn’t take more than a short ride to get to another hospital,” he said.
he’s not aware of how Catholic hospitals have been buying out secular hospitals right and left; it might be a longer ride than he thinks to find one that’s not Catholic…
Right and next thing you know, gay men who are beaten to a pulp will have to travel from hospital to hospital, until they find one that will treat homosexual victims of hate crimes because the Pope has made it clear that the Catholic Church should not tolerate gay people.

They are pushing hard on the talking point “he’s running for President” — obviously therefore the censure resolution is a publicity stunt that no one should take seriously. I heard this talking point on network television “news” this morning.
Democrats distanced themselves Monday from Wisconsin Sen. Russell Feingold’s effort to censure President Bush over domestic spying, maneuvering to prevent a vote that could alienate swing voters. Republicans dared Democrats to vote for the proposal.
…
Feingold, a potential presidential candidate, said on the Senate floor, “The president has violated the law and Congress must respond.”
No one else mentioned in the article is identified as a “potential presidential candidate”: not Frist, not Lieberman, who — this is a good one — would “prefer to see us solve the problem.”
“Democrats have their biggest advantage since 1992 when poll respondents are asked if they favor Democratic or Republican congressional candidates. The spread: Democrats over Republicans 55% — 39%, a 16-percentage-point gap.[..]

OK. There’s work to do. Those numbers need to crack 30% so by mid-terms there’ll be just a thread left in his coat tails.
What I just cannot understand is – with numbers like this – why don’t the Democrats go after him? I read in a Yahoo article that alohaleezy linked to that they won’t support Feingold’s resolution because they are afraid of loosing the “centrist” voters. With numbers like this, I think those folks left Bush long ago!
What leading Republican said this about the war???
“When you want to win the hearts and minds of people you don’t kill them and destroy their property,” …
“You don’t use bombers and tanks and napalm to save them,” … “You don’t escalate into a military war that kills the very people you are trying to save.”
In Sadr City, the Shiite slum that is essentially a city within a city, government forces have vanished. The streets are ruled by aggressive teenagers with shiny soccer jerseys and machine guns. They poke their heads into cars and detain whom they want. Mosques blare for American troops to stay out. Increasingly, the Americans have been doing just that.

That is just… disgusting.

According to the New Haven Register, Lieberman supports rapists rights in CT
Sounds like he’s been drinking. What an idiot!
You are too kind.

Any guesses? The answer is in this diary.
George Romney!!! I never would have guessed that–sounds more like something William Milliken would have said!
