Another reason I don’t mud wrestle. My challenge to SN was in full knowledge that she was just as much a lady as I am and would NEVER have really agreed to it. and neither of us would risk our beers.
Just catching up on some of the posts at Manny’s blog and of course the end of Grey’s Anatomy. Watching to see if you or dada were going to get muddy. 🙂
Yes I think they do it as a brainwashing technique, so that we are all properly submissive to authority. I mean, wouldn’t it be fun if half the world just refused to go along with it?
I find it hard to adjust to, but I REALLY like having the light in the evening. I’m much more a night person than a morning person, so light in the morning is wasted on me.
I like falling back much better just cuz you get an extra hour on Sunday. I think we should just keep falling back and getting an extra hour on Sunday twice a year. Or else just let everyone pick when they want their day to start. Maybe that would be a solution for commuter traffic jams.
I’m not sure that losing Leo is going to affect the Braves as much as some people think. He’s definitely a great pitching coach, but it seems strange to me that Scherholz and Bobby Cox didn’t seem too interested in trying to resign him. Makes me think that he was somewhat expendable.
When Bobby retires or leaves, then I’m really going to mourn. Though I think like Rehnquist, he may die in office.
Wow, that shows how out of it I’ve been…I totally forgot that the Cardinals were getting a new stadium.
It was the same thing around here when Detroit got a new stadium. Everyone was talking about it. At first people were pretty wary because Tiger Stadium had such history, but the organization did a great job with Comerica Park (other than the name…) and I think everyone is pretty happy with it now.
I think I agree with that decision…Busch Stadium isn’t nearly as overtly corporate as most of the other park names, plus there’s a certain comfort level with having it remain the same.
I agree too, although it’s ironic. For years people made fun of us because everything was so corporate. The stadium seemed to be named for a beer (really for the owner of the brewery) and the corporate owner played the budweiser theme song at 7th inning stretch and had ads all over the place.
Now our name seems tame. Of course we now sing Take me out to the ballgame at 7th inning stretch like everyone else.
So I guess I’ll post a proper ‘Hey Everybody’ comment. sorry for the absence but I got my hands on a copy of Bryce 5.5 and I’ve been elbow deep in learning how to use it properly 🙂 yeah i’m a graphics geek at heart
OOOhh!! Since He’s not gonna mention it, I will. The one in the middle of his list is the one he did for me! Turned on my computer this afternoon and that was my background…what a nice surprise!
Did you do those? When I was playing around with it I made something like the third one. Mine had a mountain coming up out of the sea and the clear oval was beside it. Then I took what looked like a large smooth rock and made it go throug the circle and back to where it came from.
It will get to be a lot more fun when you start getting into the motion parts. I never could figure out how to put the people into the scenes and have them doing thing.
It’s amazing that a lot of the stuff you see on TV is probably done with Bryce. I’ve seen some commercials that have the same people figures that Bryce has.
I haven’t had a chance to talk to since I posted that comment about your camera macro setting! LOL. The next cafe I read, you had figured it out and taken some pix but then couldn’t post b/c you were leaving for the w/e.
I’ve just looked at the photos and they’re great! Very clear, excellent! I’m so excited — the macro is taking over the frog pond. 🙂
after the day at the ND Dem-NPL Convention in Fargo, Sen. Dorgan and Rep Pomeroy, do their karaoke rendition of Jimmy Buffett’s, “Margaritaville”…wasted away again in margaritaville…
Question: “special effects” are; on purpose, or due; to the photographer having too much tequila, to the photographer still being on the uphill part of learning curve for indoor shots, to the flooding of the Red River of the North, some other reason, or all of the above.
just got back from MPLS, left at 9AM and I spent all day riding, listening to an ensemble, trio, and quartet from the St Paul Chamber Orchestra, and more riding in my friend’s Prius, “only” 39mph today, too much wind.
Cafe opened and bring your own mud.
Mud? Is that some new kind of drink?
Didn’t you read the top. Possible mud wrestling.
Git yer mud HERE from a photog out of New Zealand…great shot.
Peace
That was great dada. How do you get the pictures so fast?
I think you’d look good in full body spatter. Go for it.
That’s what I was going to say. 🙂
Mary, Mary, Mary. Everybody knows men don’t mud wrestle.
We do manly things like bowling. Plus a beer can just slips through muddy fingers.
Another reason I don’t mud wrestle. My challenge to SN was in full knowledge that she was just as much a lady as I am and would NEVER have really agreed to it. and neither of us would risk our beers.
As a lady I think that I would prefer oil to mud…at least for apperance’s sake. 😉
although mud might hide a multitude of sins, as they say
Well you do have a point there…
<clears throat>
😀
Oil – Mud, who cares.
yes but does mud hide the belly? that would be the part i’d be most concerned with 😉
mmm, if you wanna oil wrestle more power to ya…as long as i can break out the camcorder 😉
You must have missed the part where I said I was LADY? Why this would surprise anyone …
We believe you Mary. You do know we have the spa in back with the Mud Baths
A spa?
There’s an idea. Life just hasn’t been the same around here since supersoling left with all the lotion 🙁
I’ll be glad when Super shows back up.
It hasn’t been the same without that lotion.
Me too…hope he’s ok.
me too
i miss him
Dont mind him…he hears women and wrestling and you know…all goes to THAT brain.
Ahem
Hell it wasn’t my brain that was concerned about you oil wrestling 😉
ahem
Tell me something I don’t already know! 😉
um, how about…
The only insect that can turn its head 360 degrees is the praying mantis.
Who also lovingly…chomps their mates head off.
Think about it…
😀
I would say Yes Mam and protect my neck. 😉
oh, THAT brain.
And you know this how?
ej everybody know when you go out to slop the hogs, you have to have a beer. It gets muddy out there.
You’re still here! And it’s almost 10 for you!
I hadn’t see you for a minute and I thought you had gone off to go to sleep.
Just catching up on some of the posts at Manny’s blog and of course the end of Grey’s Anatomy. Watching to see if you or dada were going to get muddy. 🙂
Like I said earlier, we do manly things like bowling. Darts are good too.
and curling?
I don’t know. It’s hard to hold a beer and curl.
I dunno if you wanna see me mud wrestle. shivers at the thought
My grandmother always used to say, “Here’s mud in your eye!”
Close, but I was thinking more full body mud splatter.
As a “toast” when she was drinking, that is.
Well that’s a completly different matter. 🙂
“First today!” was another one of her favorites.
My Mom has a purley southern saying that she uses when she’s surprised or as just an utterance.
I’lllllll Swannee. Like the song Swannee River. However, you’ve got to carry out the I’llllllll and say Swannee real fast.
She actually doesn’t even realize she says it.
I’m not sure I get how that sounds.
me either
Do you remember the very very old song, Way Down Upon The Swannee River?
It’s not the Swannee part I don’t get. What’s the first word she says?
It I’ll carried out very long.
so
Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiii’ll
or I’lllllllllllllllllllll
which gets carried out? The I or the L?
The I.
Took this in my backyard this morning.
Yikes! I’m so tired! I hate daylight savings time. Where does all the daylight go that gets saved up, anyway?
Hi MM. Beautiful.
Thought of your photo when I saw a pond reflecting the sky today.
Thanks, that definitely brought a smile to me.
What a gorgeous photo!
I agree about DST. In addition, there should be statutes restricting the enforcement of 11am hotel checkout times on ‘spring forward’ day.
How often do you get to the Traverse City area?
Not that often anymore. I used to have a couple of friends up there so I’d get up there about twice a year, but they’ve all moved.
Have you been there?
No, but I was remembering that someone I used to know opened a restaurant near Traverse City a few years ago. Frankfort?
Rhonda’s Wharfside something …
I think Frankfort is on Lake Michigan, so that puts it west of Traverse by a little ways.
It’s really pretty up there, but I have no desire to suffer through any more northern michigan winters.
Yes I think they do it as a brainwashing technique, so that we are all properly submissive to authority. I mean, wouldn’t it be fun if half the world just refused to go along with it?

I haven’t been here when you’ve been here the last few cafes. I wanted to give you some big hugs to last the next couple of weeks! {{{{{{mm}}}}}}}
That’s a beautiful photo! I love the lines in the petals, and the colour too. 🙂
Thanks, Olivia! I’ll need all the moral support I can get.
{{{back to you!}}}

Bobby is an evil genius (from our pov).
Cards open tomorrow in Philly. Home opener isn’t until next week. Today’s headline in the paper: “I wanted to hate it. But I can’t.”
The new stadium has trumped every single other piece of news this week. Which is kind of sick; but that’s what baseball is — a sickness 🙂
We, of course, are keeping the name Busch Stadium. Because what else would it be called AND who else would pay for the name in St. Louis?
They keep referring to it as Busch III, which is technically true. But Sportsman’s Park was only Busch for a short time toward the end.

The budweiser song is played in the 8th inning 🙂
I don’t usually pimp diaries from dKos in here, but this one is really great.
Only in New Orleans: I couldn’t have made these events up myself
That was an excellent diary ej. Thanks.
that was great! A perfect New Orleans story.
Thanks for that ej…much appreciated.
Peace
So I guess I’ll post a proper ‘Hey Everybody’ comment. sorry for the absence but I got my hands on a copy of Bryce 5.5 and I’ve been elbow deep in learning how to use it properly 🙂 yeah i’m a graphics geek at heart
How’s it going Cthulus. You’ve got Bryce. I used to play around with it some and had a lot of fun.
yeah I’m diggin’ it. I normally just tool around with 2d stuff. web page graphics and such, but i’m hooked now.
I got into creating ocean sceens, but never could get the human one to work right.
Good to see you again! Did you figure it out?
Yeah for the most part. I’m still piddling around with what the true artists would consider basic crud. but i’ll throw up a couple of links
Here
Here
And Here
That looks like fun. Be fun to see more…
OOOhh!! Since He’s not gonna mention it, I will. The one in the middle of his list is the one he did for me! Turned on my computer this afternoon and that was my background…what a nice surprise!
That is so cool CoD! What a great guy. 🙂 And a great piece of work too!
Oh yeah he is…great guy and a piece of work. Never a dull moment for sure! 😉
That made me lol CoD… 🙂
Did you do those? When I was playing around with it I made something like the third one. Mine had a mountain coming up out of the sea and the clear oval was beside it. Then I took what looked like a large smooth rock and made it go throug the circle and back to where it came from.
yep, those are my first week creations 🙂 I’m working on getting a little more complicated though.
You’re still here!
No I’m over at the new cafe. Hah.
I like the third for the colour and play circles, but the second is the best for sentiment! 😉
Oh, and thanks for the kind words about the photos!
Hey, what do you know, I do have macro features…
I’m amazed what a male can do once he reads some directions…
now if I could only figure out this indoor photography with digital, I’d be really cookin’ with oil.
macro image untouched
cropped and enlarged
That’s really good NDD.
Awesome photos btw Olivia. I’d never checked em out before. heck not sure if we’ve even ever been on the same thread before, but yeah. great stuff
after the day at the ND Dem-NPL Convention in Fargo, Sen. Dorgan and Rep Pomeroy, do their karaoke rendition of Jimmy Buffett’s, “Margaritaville”…wasted away again in margaritaville…
larger
Hilarious actually!
Question: “special effects” are; on purpose, or due; to the photographer having too much tequila, to the photographer still being on the uphill part of learning curve for indoor shots, to the flooding of the Red River of the North, some other reason, or all of the above.
How’s it going NDD. Good to see you home again.
just got back from MPLS, left at 9AM and I spent all day riding, listening to an ensemble, trio, and quartet from the St Paul Chamber Orchestra, and more riding in my friend’s Prius, “only” 39mph today, too much wind.
Sounds like you had a hetic day. Why only 39 mph? I don’t know much about a Prius.
we got 48 mpg. Ohhh, now I see it, should be 39 mpgallon
That was confusing, this makes more sense.
I was thinking to myself why would anyone buy a car that would only go 39 mph in the wind. LOL.
I wish Andi had said she’d check back in with us.
Do you want me to open the next cafe?
If you want to, otherwise I’ll be happy to.
since I certainly would be the last one to blaspheme the Prius in any way. I think it’s a great auto, wish I had the $s for one.
The Booman Trib members need to go on Ophra when she decides to give those away.
welcome back to the pond. We missed you.
been trying to stay caught up just reading through the old FBCs but it’s been a challenge even to do that.
short summary:
nothing important happened.
Just start fresh 🙂
since I’ve been looking for a “fresh start” for a few decades now, ha!
see you in the next one, most likely!
new cafe is now open.
