That 4 looks good on you
You’ve got to be kidding me…
What time do you desert the CBs for your own selfish pleasures, leaving them to the vagaries of a cruel and indifferent universe? (lucky you)
Are you in . . . sin city??
(Oh, and good morning)
Yep, I’m here (and sleepy!). How are you this morning?
I “deserted” them last night. I’m sure they are just pining for my return…
How’s Sin City? Done any sinning that you’d like to confess?
You want me to sin and tell?
Of course I do! I need some vicarious thrills.
wants to know too.
And anyway, isn’t half the point of doing some first-rate sinning, letting everyone else know they aren’t having as much fun as you.
The pic makes me want to head back to bed immediately!
I take it you are not neglecting the homefires like certain other folk, however.
Nope I’m happily ensconced at home. I’d never go to anything like YearlyKos anyway — don’t care about kos, hate crowds, hate las vegas even more.
On every single point.
If anyone finds me in Vegas, it would be in a container of ashes.
it is nicely located to fly into and immediately leave to go hiking in Utah or Arizona.
Yes, I’ve heard that. We tried to do a family reunion once flying there, but we ended up in the Shenandoah’s instead.
Good Morning everyone.
Morning, FP. It’s a good day to be Friday.
Yep it is. How’re you today?
Very good. Days and nights mixed up, but otherwise doing fine.
Yeah I hate to get my internal clock turned around. It throws my nap schedule off. 🙂
Now that’s the best reply to my little nappishness I’ve heard yet!
Feeling recovered from the dentist?
Yep feeling fine today. Have you got big plans today, other than work?
Big plans: leaving now to go for a walk in the woods with dogs.
See ya later.
Enjoy.
That sounds like such fun.
Up to anything interesting today?
No not really. I’m going to try to get some outside work done today. Sat. & Sun. here it’s supposed to be up to around 100 F, so I definitely don’t want to be outside then.
Other than that, naps. 🙂
Ouch! That is too too hot! Reminds me of living in Texas and one scorcher of a summer that I lived in Homewood. I did not garden then as I do now.
I’m such a warm weather wimp that when it’s over 80 I don’t go outside in the sun. I’ve lost my Southern warm-weather acclimation, that’s for sure. (But I miss the gorgeous azaleas and camelias I had in my yard.)
Naps sound about right for such temps.
Well my Southern acclimation hasn’t completely come back. Over 80 and I start whimping out. I’m ready for winter again. Not that there much of winter down here, but it’s at least more comfortable.
When I lived in NH and Europe where we got good amounts of snow, I never really minded it. I think it’s one of those when you grow up without it, snow never looses that wonder or appeal.
I agree. I spent one glorious winter in NH, after mostly living in the South. Loved it, loved the snow, still like the snow, find it magical.
Yes I’m the same way. My Mom keeps saying before she dies she wants to see at least one more good snow down here. I can’t count the number of times when we might get a flake or two and she’ll be knocking on my door at 2:00 am for me to come and see the snow.
A lot of times it will be do you see them, no Mom, but we’ll keep looking. Of course I’m leaning against the window trying to sleep on my feet, but just seeing a little flurry and she’s like a kid.
I love when the snow starts to fall but hate everything about it once it is all over. I have been snowed in twice in my life in eastern NC with over 20 inches of snow and really do not care if I ever see snow again except on TV. LOL
As long as I’ve got all the essentials, elec., phone, cable, food, and drink I wouldn’t care if it snowed 8 feet.
Actually it would make it easier for naps with the windows covered in snow. 🙂
ROTFLMAO!!!! Not when you are snowed in with family and have no chance of escape. I still say snow looks great on TV, in painting and on Christmas cards but not on a shovel in my hands. LOL
I was just getting ready to take George out. I’ll be back a little later. Pictures remember pictures. 🙂
I will remember. I dodn’t want you, Andi or Olivia beating me up. LOL
… pummel maybe … nag incessantly most likely 😉
Enjoy yourself!
ROTFLMAO!!!! Morning Miss Olivia!!!!!
Good to see you checking in already w/ an update!
Good morning from Fort Worth!!!!! So far all that has gone on nin Fort WQorth was a very disappointing party thrown by the Texas State party and a Fabulous Party thrown by The Tarrant County Stonewall Democrats!!! The Stonewall Party was at a beautiful home and the food and guest were fabulous. I met so many great activist from all over the state and look forward to getting to know them better and work with them in the future. Today will be getting credentials and the start of the caucuses and I am looking forward to it.
Andi, I guess if we have a blogger confrence for you, we will need to set it at a campground leading to some beautiful hiking trails. LOL
Good morning Refinish. Glad to hear you’re meet some good people.
Morning FamilyMan!!!! Of course it would be even more fun if more of the booman troops were here with me. LOL
I’m surpirsed with everybody going everywhere this weekend that someone from Boo Trib isn’t there. Oh wait, you’re there. 🙂
I’ve only flown through DFW before. That was enough for me.
Morning, Refinish. Now, I can think of more than one place to have a great party in Texas, with or without hiking trails – but just great views and great people.
Ft. Worth isn’t exactly my idea of a party town, however the only people I know in Ft. W are repubs, so that’s probably why I have that impression!
Fort Worth is a concervative or repugnant enclave but we are changing that and of course the Stonewall Folks have the biggest uphill climb. Austin of course is a great place. The hiking trails comment was for Miss Andi as I know she loves teh great outdoors so much.
Yes, I was sure you were thinking of Andi. And I was thinking of Austin, and the hill country!
a convention that I can leave right away in order to go hiking is the only kind that would appeal to me. 🙂
LOL I thought so. Maybe we can have a convention in HI once year and you can go hike the trails and I can skip meetings for the beach after I lose some of this weight. LOL
Well George is whining to go out and I’ve got to get the day started.
See ya’ll later.
Give George and extra treat today from me since I am missing the Diva Dogs so much.
I am thinking about doing a podcast with my students next year. Any advice or tips on techniques, equipment, pitfalls, etc? TIA
If you are going to be recording on computers get audacity program for recording and upload everything thing a mp3’s. Let their personalities play a role in what they do or record. The most popular shows are where people have fun as themselves with what they are doing. I am having lots of fun with mine and am getting good responses. I am no expert by any means and have to do some real work on mine. I need to start interviewing people to add another touch that people seem to love.
I have Audacity. I’d never run it before; WOW does that program have functionality! Now I just have to figure out how to use it. Actually I think the first thing I need to get is a microphone.
JimF – I wish my kids had a teacher as innovative and energetic as you in middle school. I don’t think they would have turned off as much as they did.
Have you noticed that there are long periods of time when I disappear, except to “roborate,” from the cafe during the school year? So much for energy. 🙂
Ok, but you fake energy well, and I was mostly talking about emotional and mental energy. Many of my kids’ teachers were worn out and it was clear they just did not like kids and/or teaching anymore. And middle school is such a pivotal time where you can either engage kids and turn them into enthusiastic learners or lose them forever.
Thank you, SN.
I like it.
I like it too. Wish I could incorporate it into my lifestyle.
good morning miss O. Did you dream of any other ways we can antagonize Whit about his smoking?
Don’t – he enjoys it. 🙂 He gets all the pleasure of nagging without having to be married.
Seems like that would be one of the negatives of marriage LOL … but I’ll have to remember that … and start getting creative … 🙂
Nagging means someone cares about you. Not really, it just means they’re a nagger. But in this case we really do care about FM. And I just like to nag. I’ve put alot of effort into perfecting it over the years.
I’ll be the first to say you’re one of the best at nagging I’ve ever seen. It shows you have put time and patience and take pride in your nagging.
Way to go SN. 🙂
My mother always said ‘if it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing well.’ Ok, it wasn’t really my mother who said that. My mother said “Don’t talk to me like that you little snot or you’ll go to school with a handprint on your face!”
My Mom was always the wait until your father gets home type. We knew we could get away with anything until Dad got home.
I know we used to give her a lot of misery when we were young. 🙂
Yep and I have an off switch. If I ever got tired of it, just push a button and no more nagging. 🙂
Yep, me too.
… until after oct 7th … 😉
all you have to do is to promise to come to Chicago.
How many more days of FCH do you have?
And, the end of next week caps off w/ that retreat. Blech.
you’ll already be in a bad mood so the retreat won’t be ruining anything.
Hope you have a good day — not bogged down coding. See you later …
It’s clean up and lawn time.
See ya’ll later.
See you have no need to “fake energy.” I am thinking about going for a ride.
Last gasp on the errands — off to see if I can get a prescription refilled early, then to the bank to make some financial transfers (to make sure we have enough $$$ in for emergencies — we don’t do credit cards anymore) and to get some traveler’s checks. Finally home to pack and clean out the refrigerator so we don’t come home to any science experiments. lol We won’t have time for breakfast before our ride to the airport arrives, so we’re going out tonight for a substantial meal; we’ll see what we can grab at the airport that won’t cost us an arm, leg and couple of toes.
Up too damn late again last night — I think I’ll be operating on adrenaline the next couple of days. And if all goes well, I’ll at least be meeting up with Izzy sometime during the trip! 🙂
Back later…
As usual, I’m lagging behind the early birdies here, but wanted to say hey to all before I get serious about actually doing some work here.
Overcast and mid 60’s here now, and rain is promised (yet again) for this evening… I sure hope they’re right this time, as I’m so tired of spending over an hour watering every night! Everything is primed to really take off with a good rain, so we’ll see what happens.
Hope all you folks in Vegas are having a great time (that means you, CG!) and the rest of us can perhaps not so enviously envy you. I’m with Andi on all the reasons not to go to LV… At least we can enjoy vicariously from afar and be able to retire to the comfort of home! Here’s to a great start of the weekend for everybody…
I could use a Coffee and Bailey’s right now. Hold the coffee, please.
I’ll take one of those as well … double shot too. How are you holding up?
You may be on to something…it’s looking like a liquid lunch may be in order today…again.
Must be the approaching full moon…gettin’ kinda meta ’round here…think I’ll go join the Spontaneous Uprising…:{)
Unfortunately it’s that way in RL too … :/ ACK!
See ya later? I’ve got to get back at it … 🙂
spontaneous if you plan on joining it? 🙂
Bud will be with us in the barricades just as soon as he finishes putting my foot to sleep.
Does Bu sit on your foot? I’ve never understood that phenomenon with all my dogs.
can be painful…
Bu doesn’t, she just sits in front of me w/ her head in my lap wanting her ears scratched. Sebastian, the Bassett I had, was the only dog I’ve had that would do that…very quirky, those guys are.
trying to catch up on all the stuff I procrastinated earlier in the week O:-)
How r u?
Just realized that I’ve misplaced my wallet somewhere … (hope it’s at home). But seeing Bud always makes me feel better … 🙂
