Pollen for Lament?
::groan::
Good Morning All
Good morning Andi. I double that ::groan::
π
Are you groaning over my bad puns or because it’s what we geezers do when we get our creaky bodies out of bed?
Both, but today I was up so early my creakiness is just squeaks now.
How’re you doing today? Other than creaking of course.
Morning FamilyMan!!! You two geezers need to think of something besides craks and groans this am. LOL
Morning Refinish. When you’re a geezer creaks and groans come with the territory.
As FMom says, as I am, one day you will be. π
Trust me I have mnine but I try not to dwell on them. LOL
Hey when you get old you have to have something to talk about.
A friend and I was laughing the other day about comparing our health. We said did we ever think at 17 years old we would be debating the different doctors and catching up on the latest ailments. π
ROTFLMAO!!! I think that starts mid to late 40’s and only gets worse as you get older. LOL I blame most of my craks and groans on the 5 car wrecks in the past 9 years but I am sure my age has something to do with it also.
The year I turned 40 I had to have bi-focals. Since then it’s been downhill. π
I got my progressive lenses at 40 also. LOL I have 3 visions in mine.
I think I’m getting to the point of three vision, but I haven’t been for an eye check in years. I guess walking into walls should tell me something. π
Morning Miss Andi!!!!
Hi refinish. How goes it with you?
Pretty good!!!! I am trying to get things together to send out my letter and also plan a menu for an open house for this weekend at the Dem. Party office down the street from me.
I hope everyone has a great day!!!! I have to get ready and head out for my day. I will check in later if I can. I will be checking the web for stories from CT today.
Have a good day and slack when possible.
and following you out the door — the dogs have signaled that they are ready to take me for a walk in the woods.
See ya Andi.
I have a job interview today. It’s for a job I’m not all that excited about, but the agency set it up for me and under Washington law if you have an interview, you go or you don’t get your unemployment benefits for that week.
It’s in a field sort of related to what I’ve done the last three years, but not entirely (testing software). I’ve never tested software before, except as an adjunct to building it. So they’re going to ask me how I would test some random object (like a water bottle or a change machine) and I have to try to come up with all the things I can think of that’s it’s supposed to do, plus a bunch of things you’re not supposed to do but people might. What happens if you fill it with gasoline? Or nails? Does it give change for a photocopied $1 bill?
And to top it all off my blood sugar dropped during the night, so I had to eat breakfast at 5 AM, which means I’m going to be in danger of dropping again during an interview that starts at 11.
All I can say it Lamont better win tonight.
Oh yeah, and the interview is right next door to a pretty decent Mexican restaurant. So I’m going to go treat myself when it’s all over.
Good luck, Omir. I hope you get the job, or don’t, or whatever is best for you. Maybe you could bring a small snack to the interview in your briefcase just in case you may need to sneak it at an opportune time? In any case, I hope you enjoy your almuerzo, and let us know how things go.
Yeah, I’m going past a drugstore on the way and I think I’ll grab something small and carbohydratudinous on the way through. Maybe some orange juice or something. I hate having to do that, because carbs to keep my blood sugar up mean calories I don’t want, but better that than getting the shakes during an interview (which actually happened last year).
I hope that your interview goes smooooooooooothly … and you obtain the outcome of your choice! π
I realize you won’t see this till it’s all over, but I hope that this works out in the best of all possible ways for you.
I’ll be in and out today, still fighting with the formatting of my UN10 diary. blech.
the gnomes attacked and I had a hard time figuring out where my tags were broken to post it. Finally just went line-by-line till I figured out the source of my idiocy. (I forget a quote mark somewhere)
Hope you’re having a good day, olvia (and everybody else lurkin)
Just a shout out before the day gets out of hand…here’s a little Tea Video for KMc, to go w/ his morning cup.
Enjoy
Later
back to work day after your long w/e…monday on tuesday – not all bad, friday’s closer…:{)
one day closer … And it’s a quiet day today … can’t complain … π
Hope you’re having a good day!
where I’ve got fast internet and watch it a bit later.
Especially of a nice green like Clear Mountain Water, a srping tea with fabulous sweet spicy notes.
Thanks, dada.
I got halfway to the interview and got a call from my recruiter telling me they’d cancelled the interview.
So instead of going on to Redmond I went downtown to have lunch with my wife. I do believe it’s now naptime.
Thanks for the well-wishes. Actually, this was a pretty good outcome because I got to spend time with my wife rather than a bunch of people trying their darnedest to come up with reasons not to hire me. π
are they planning to reschedule? I would hate for you to miss out on good Mexican food π
Hahahaha . . . I’ll get my fix one way or another. There’s another very good restaurant here in the neighborhood that’s a bit expensive, but you get plates that must be a foot and a half across. Un tamal, enchilada, carne asada, arroz y frijoles refritos, $12. ¡Muy bueno!
But I swear, no one in this burg knows how to make chili con queso. There was this place in Austin we used to go to on Wednesdays because that was when their $5 fajita special was on. We’d order a bowl of chili con queso, fajitas all around, and then go back to the office and pretend we weren’t too stuffed to work. Nobody even has chili con queso on the menu here. An inexcusable black mark on an otherwise fine city.
(Oh, and for lunch, my wife and I ate at an Indian buffet. Chicken tikka marsala and saag paneer. Yum.)
