I’ve been playing blues guitar for 30 years. That guy on the video is so far beyond what I’ve ever been able to do that I’m glad I found another way to make a living!
I should have recognized him. I have a couple of his albums, but haven’t played them in many years.
By the way, the official story is that he hung himself in jail, but there is controversy about that. An awful lot of people who supposedly hung themselves in jail didn’t really do it.
They do put on a nice show. They are my wife’s favorite band. We saw them in Philadelphia on the same tour. As is the nature of things these days, a friend of mine who we went to the show with blogged about it.
It is truly a rare band that has fans that span three generations. I was a so so fan until my son turned me on to them and my 10 yr old grandleezy loves them. She knows all the words, much better than I do. But then again she loves Pearl Jam too. Love that kid. Her first concert was Dave Mathews Band at five years old. We took her to see INXS this summer. She followed the choosing of the new singer on tv. I love how music connects us all.
The huge guy on the left of your screen with the big bald head is my son and the little gal to his right is his wife. Imagine coming across this on YouTube? LOL This was in Vegas this spring.

Roy Buchanan bio.
He hung himself in a drunk tank, after years of celebration by his fans and critics, and indifference from the general public.

We need a dial-up thread.
Hard to believe it’s been twenty-six years.
I still miss John. Made me weep tonight for all that has been lost. God. 26 years…where the hell did they go?
About two weeks ago was wandering through, youtube and found this.

Got to love that Telecaster sound. My first guitar was a Tele, and I loved it dearly. Sadly, it burned in a fire in my apartment basement 🙁
One of my favorite guitar tunes, by one of my favorite guitarists. Not a Tele, but a Strat is just as good. Especially in this man’s hands.
