There was so much there, where to begin? From calling out Bush, to whacking down McCain, to blasting the war profiteers, to reminding the Republicans of their departed colleagues, to issuing a challenge to the incoming Democrats…no one was left unscathed save for those 3000+ who have made the ultimate “sacrifice”:
First, we sent Americans to their deaths for your lie, Mr. Bush.
Now we are sending them to their deaths for your ego.
If what is reported is true — if your decision is made and the “sacrifice” is ordered — take a page instead from the man at whose funeral you so eloquently spoke this morning — Gerald Ford: Put pragmatism and the healing of a nation, ahead of some kind of misguided vision.
Atone.
Sacrifice, Mr. Bush?
No, sir, this is not “sacrifice.” This has now become “human sacrifice.”
And it must stop.

BooMan’s new diary sums it up really well I think… the wheels are off and we’re all on the bus careening to who knows what at this point… Our long national nightmare is going to continue unabated for a while… let’s hope we all wake up in Oz rather than somewhere less attractive.

for my country plays very odd in my head now. I had it though once, I really did. That first year Iraq tour when I kept my chin up and only cried to myself alone at night about how stupid and unfounded it all seemed, but I had that sacrifice for my country thing swimming in place treading water down and I was doing it. It’s so weird because when I hear sacrifice for my country now my brain immediately flips to a station that is off the air……..there is a test pattern on the screen and the high pitched tone that turns into a scream in your head if you focus on it too long.
Sacrifice for what? The most powerful thing KO said last night was that young people died for your lie and now they must die for your ego.
That said – I agree with KO, but he has an ego the size of the Sears tower.
Seems like lots of girls are confessing that they want to know if he has anything else on his person that is “towering”. Tee hee
He seems like a sexist pig, IMO. But that doesn’t stop me from loving his balls-o-steel.
