Good morning, Andi. Cold? I heard that in Cle by the end of the week wind chills -20-30.
but it’s supposed to get down into the teens by Thursday. So nothing as bad as Cleveland.
I’m heading off to Chicago where it looks like tomorrow night is going to be the coldest.
Sounds like fun. Remember the mink coat.
Yeah, your comment just made me go struggle to put the wool lining in my raincoat — I’d forgotten how much fun that isn’t.
Ah yes, the 7 foot long rusted zipper.
Have a safe trip.
🙂
It doesn’t help that the coat is nearly as tall as I am.
How’s Ryan’s nose?
I haven’t seen her for a while but it looked pretty good last time I did.
Now onto the teeth…
Will she have to go through braces again? If so, whatever she gets from the guy definitely need to include some extra for the suffering part.
She got her braces back on the day after the accident. Now she’s got to have several root canals and crowns or implants.
That sounds traumatic. How long of a process is that?
She definitely deserves extra for the pain and suffering.
Even worse. I don’t know how she keeps from wanting to go run the guy down and give him his own taste of what it’s like.
Good morning.
I sound like I have croup this morning…and I’m a little old for that, dontcha think?
Could be you’re working up to a case of bronchitis.
Yeah, my first call today is going to be to the pulmonologist’s office, praying they’ll make time for me. I don’t trust my primary care doctor to take care of this.
It’s snowing (very lightly) here thismorning, how about you?
I’ve had several run-ins with bronchitis; definitely not fun.
No snow and most of what we had melted off so that there is only about an inch or less left. So weather shouldn’t affect my flight.
I’ve had bronchitis several times too, but it’s always mixed with a flare off my asthma. Now my asthma is so well controlled that I’m not wheezing, just congested/coughing/barking and my lungs are burning. It’s very weird.
Sometimes my asthma would be just a feeling like I have an iron band around my chest — no wheezing at all. But between the nasal surgery to remove the polyps and advair, I haven’t had any real trouble with my asthma in a couple of years.
morning … morning … morning …
The pond sure is empty … 🙂
They are very soothing.
You’re welcome … soothing is good.
How’s the little dude fairing these days?
His tooth has been tended to, in the end after digging into it they decided to pull it. It was the semi-permanent molar that we all usually lose around 13 or 14. It has made more room on his upper jaw now and we may not need to figure out tooth removal on his upper jaw until he is in those early teen years. His lower jaw though is very crowded and we will deal with that in April. They took xrays of his rods in his back and couldn’t see anything conclusive. His body and muscles have grown around the rods in his back so if they do come unattached they aren’t moving around much. They decided that if his discomfort stays moderate to just give him some ibuprofen and they will check it when he has his next surgery. Titanium Rib is sort of like braces on your teeth, it is a long term gradual straightening and his discomfort could be caused from a detached rod or a rod pulling and doing its work. So things healthwise with him have stabilized in my own mind again. He loves school, is a Math wiz and was a bit slower on reading. He worked on his reading though and now he is at the top of the testing there but they have thrown spelling tests in now and that is challenging him. He is very goal oriented. When I finally figured that out I bought four $5 Ninja turtle figures when he was potty training and he got one everytime he was successful. He was potty trained in four days. Every child is different, it’s just the parents that have a lot to learn.
I’ve just come across the perfect contraption for you!!
Horizontal desk for in-bed internet surfing.
Who thinks of these things? I just had a flash of myself as an old lady, 300lbs laying on that bed in a big ole Hawaiian print muumuu living in a “retirement community” on the coast. I won’t have to move to the coast because global warming will move the coast to me. I won’t have to move at all.
Just a hi to let you all know I’m still alive and at least intermittantly lurking. Between deadlines and mom stuff I feel like I’m swimming around on the bottom of the pond rather than holding down a lillypad. It’s mostly cool and quiet down here, which is nice, but I do miss the breezes and other surface features.
Good Morning Olivia. Thanks for the lovely rose and the pond flowers. Here are some tulips for you.

I have been doing a lot of house painting this time in my life. Are these the walls of your home in your photos? If so are they really done in the colors as they appear in your photos? They are really gorgeous if so.
Thanks MT.
These are the walls in my Venice, California house, where I lived for many years. Each room was done a little differently and had its own character, but I essentially used the same basic colors throughout, just in different order of application. The walls were originally white. We sanded the walls down a bit- just enough to remove the old flaky, crumbly stuff– and then added a little burgundy, red and orange (and a tiny bit of black in some cases.) We rubbed and rubbed by hand until we got the desired terra cotta effect. This house was built around 1910, so the plaster walls had a wonderful uneven texture and various imperfections–all of which added a lot of dimension. Here is another view.
I could tell that where ever these walls were they had been painstakingly done by hand. I have done a few walls like that, can’t imagine doing a whole house!
Your photographs are wonderful. I really loved the B&Ws from last night. Just gorgeous.
Photography is a wonderful passion– just the idea that you can capture a split second of eternity with a stack of ground glass and a rectangle of emulsion– what a miracle.
It`s like putting smoke in a cage.
I think the lady in the other room in the chair is a beauty, & the photo is very nice.
Thanks, K-head. That is one of my favorites, too. But I was a little afraid to post it. You never know who might object to nude studies, even though my photographs of women are meant to honor the spirit of the goddess , not to be exploitive in any way. These are the kind of images I have most often exhibited.
A repost from the middle of the night.

“ADDICTED TO LOVE”
Good pm, all. I wish that I could see these photos. Industrial strength filtering in a red county really does keep one isolated.
