Welcome back.
This week we’ll be continuing with our 5×7 painting of the new Gehry building in New York City. It is seen in the photo directly below.
When last we were together, the painting appeared as it does in the photo directly below.
Since that time I have continued to work on the painting.
I’ve sharpened the window bands a bit. I’ve also painted over the road and added a few faint highlighted areas. The curb has been lightened to add more contrast.
To the far left, I added the first of the 3 trees. Painting it over the building took a little courage because I wasn’t sure that it would look right. I’m now ready to do the other 2, which I should have for you next week.
The current state of the painting is seen in the photo directly below.
That’s about it for now, see you next week.
Paint me a picture of your thoughts.
In art, as in life, courage pays off!
Right you are. 😉

How did you get a picture of a painting you haven`t finished yet?[ kidding]
I can imagine you`d be a little shakey pior to putting brush to canvas over the work already in progress. Good call to take the plunge.
Even though I rarely comment on your Sat. painting diary, I try to always visit. I watch a painting show on TV as often as possible which has 3/4 different artists on a rotating basis. I spent many years with an old artist friend also, but in the end I have no comprehension what so ever of the “eye of the artist”.
It has frustrated me for years.
Have a nice day.
Thanks for your comments, Knucklehead. I highly recommend picking up a brush sometime. It’ll give added comprehension to the good photographic eye you already have.
Boran2,

A few years ago, I did try to do some painting on an online workshop.
The artwork was done in PhotoShop.
The task was to paint an impression of a human egg being fertilized, [don`t ask me]. I was ridiculed [ like I really cared for that kind of criticism]. Some one else who also didn`t appreciate the “Holier than thow, crap even emailed me because he felt the same way as I.
I did my last attempt & sent it in as an abortion, preconception.
I learned more from that little episode , than had I not tried, but what I learned I built on & continuously do so in my own way.
