I am going to start a new series of posts.
The “Don’t Tase Me, Bro’!!!” series.
In it I will deal with the increasingly absurd daily incursions of our Homeboy Security-inspired and empowered Kops into our individual rights.
Being a K-K-K-Keystone Kop is a growth industry here in Omertica. Red Alert Central has provided the impetus for this cancerous growth upon our lives and freedom, and I intend to publicize it.
Here is the first installment.
Bloodied 70-year-old woman cuffed for having a brown lawn…
Read on for more.
Great-grandma Betty pleads innocent to resisting arrest over dead grass
OREM – Betty Perry pleaded innocent Tuesday to charges she failed to water her lawn and resisted arrest when an officer attempted to cite her.
Perry appeared in 4th District Court in Orem to enter her plea in a case prominent Los Angeles attorney Gloria Allred described as a gross injustice.
“Today, law enforcement in Orem has enshrined itself as the laughing stock of our country by prosecuting a 70-year-old great-grandmother for allegedly not watering her lawn,” Allred said. “This ill-conceived action ensures Orem’s law enforcement authorities first place in the [Guinness World Records] for stupidity.”
Perry’s next appearance will be on Oct. 11 for a pre-trial conference.
In July, Perry was cited by Officer James Flygare of the police’s Neighborhood Preservation Unit for failing to water her lawn. Perry refused to give her name to the officer and, when Flygare tried to stop her from going back inside her house, she reportedly tripped and injured her nose.
She was arrested and taken to police station but released shortly afterwards.
An investigation by the state Department of Public Safety cleared Flygare of any wrongdoing, and city officials pressed charges against Perry on the landscape violation, a class C misdemeanor, and interfering with a police officer, a class B misdemeanor.
Allred, a high-profile Los Angeles attorney who has represented the family of Nicole Brown Simpson, O.J. Simpson’s murdered wife, said she was there to provide support for Perry, whose criminal defense is being handled by M. Paige Benjamin, a Provo attorney.

P.S. OUCH!!!! Lay OFFA me!!!
I was on a list to receive trade magazines which cater to the military-industrial complex. After entering several articles with direct quotes the magazines stopped. I tried to get people aware of just how prevalent, common and Satanic the concepts of data mining these creeps claim as their divine right.
We are not allowed to water lawns and they have even passed a law calling for meters on PRIVATE wells.
Going down a list I emailed every Army recruiter on the North Shore blasting them for
Well they called me but didn’t say much after I pulled out the depleted uranium card.
I have many names for it, assholianism is one of them.
The Illuminati salute is another one and of course there is globalization grease.
Friends, tired of bending over and taking that huge shafting you get every time global issues take away another piece of your lifestyle? Well, we can’t claim to make globalization go away but our grease makes that shafting easier.
Welcome, citizen prole, welcome to Northcomm.

What about the don’t blow me, bro series?
I’ve been looking for a place to talk about this and, well, what the hell, you are always posting off topic rants in my diaries…
What do you think, AG, about a candidate for office that has the following characteristics?
When we talk about the underclass having no representation…
Here’s a candidate you can get behind.
Sounds like my kinda woman.
My kinda candidate, too.
Why do you ask?
AG
I thought maybe you might be interested in her campaign.
I am.
Now what?
AG
Dunno. Maybe send her a check? Maybe offer to phone bank? Maybe write a diary about her, or her opponent.
Diary, once I have the time to look her up further.
GOT no money to speak of. None to spare, for sure.
Got no time for phone banks, either.
Later…
AG
My “rants” are NEVER off topic.
Just…kinda broadly based.

A group of us in New Orleans attempted to deliver a letter to Mary Landrieu calling for her to support the repeal of the FISA amendments, and vote to end funding for the war.
We were a small group, 8 or 9. As we approached the entrance to the Hale Boggs Federal Building in downtown New Orleans, an officer said only two of us would be allowed to go in (we had been fliering pedestrians beforehand and had a banner). We choose two, myself and another woman, and attempted to pass through the metal detector. Then we were told we couldn’t bring in our literature ( I had a small stack of pamphlets in my hand). We exited the building and I stuffed one in my pocket to bring up.
In Landrieu’s office we were greeted by the office manager with extreme, arms folded hostility. The other woman and I are well known by the landrieu camp for our support for public housing to reopen in New Orleans (the other woman is a public housing resident).
This African American woman saved her greatest hostility for me, though, and I couldn’t finish a sentence, and was accused of ulterior motives regarding Landrieu (???).
I finally had enough, called her a tyrant, and told her I would report her to Landrieu. She told me never to come back to her office. They had already called security, and a very nice, young federal marshall escorted me out of the building. I dialogued with him on the way out about supporting anti-democratic actions.
Then, Landrieu held a conference on housing out at UNO a couple weeks later. Myself and several colleagues attended intending to ask difficult questions.
I noticed police had filed in and lined the walls of the room. A man came and sat down beside me and asked if my group was planning a protest in the room. I said no, we were planning to ask questions. He later identified himself as chief of UNO security. He remained sitting beside me the entire event. One of my friends brought up Bush and the apparent collaborative support of his policies by the democrats. He was soon escorted out by police. We went to show him support at the front of the building. He was told to get off the property or be arrested. We remained on the property, and continued to verbally challenge security. My friend left though.
We are a police state. The transformation that we were afraid of has already happened. Witness the numbers on Daily Kos who justified the tasering of the student in Florida. It is so important to resist, and speak up, as often as possible. Resist, and resist often.
You bet! Resist is the correct word! I’ve been posting at DKos for quite a number of years, and I’m really disgusted with the way everyone there appears to be laying down for this.
It’s my personal opinion, that any cop who feels he/she requires more than a loaded gun-mace-pepper spray-a baton-and handcuffs really needs to do something else for a living. Enough is enough.
Now they want the power to electrocute, as well? Their “stopping power” isn’t already lethal enough, with what they already have hanging from their utility belts? They want more, besides? Unreal!
Having a traditional lawn in a locale that is technically a desert (measured by annual rainfall) is almost as silly as being prosecuted for the failure to water it.
As a desert rat myself (my part of OK is borderline desert, and I spent much of my life in Southern Cal), nothing irks me more than assholes who not only have to water all their effin’ non-native plants but the sidewalks and streets as well. The person who has a brown lawn I tend to view as doing the whole community a favor.
I didn’t say that she was Albert Einstein.
Only that she got her ass kicked by the local Gestapo.
Errr…somewhat kicked. She’s an old lady.
I am not sure how to take that answer.
Does that mean that you support mild brutality when someone is not very smart?
Jeez!!!
We’d ALL be in trouble sometimes!!!
I can see the headlines now:
I dunno, boran2…
Maybe hanging for the people who did not pass laws forbidding lawns in the area?
Naaaahhhhh…hanging’s too good for ’em. Let’s REALLY punish them. Make them join some left-wing blogs instead.
AG
Why stop there? Make them read some of your posts? 😉
GOOD IDEA!!!
Sort of a literate community service kinda thing, eh?

somewhere in Florida, april 2006: reported by WJXT-TV Jacksonville.
granted, she was armed with 2 knifes and a hammer, but it takes a pretty active imagination to consider that a situation requiring the level of force that was used.

Do not become afraid enough to stop fighting these kinds of incursions. Because then they’ve GOTCHA!!!

Thanks all for the many recs that this post has received..
If I am to successfully continue this series here and elsewhere, I need recommendations to put the posts up where that they can be seen. I plan to just keep adding info onto each post until it disappears off of the rec list and then start a new one.
There is CERTAINLY no shortage of available info about what is happening to our individual freedoms here.
Thank you and (do not go gently into that bad ol’) goodnight.
Later…
