Given this administration’s willingness to put other people’s children in the line of fire and their unwillingness to put themselves or their own children in harm’s way, this seems about right:
Business lobbyists, nervously anticipating Democratic gains in next year’s elections, are racing to secure final approval for a wide range of health, safety, labor and economic rules, in the belief that they can get better deals from the Bush administration than from its successor.
Hoping to lock in policies backed by a pro-business administration, poultry farmers are seeking an exemption for the smelly fumes produced by tons of chicken manure.
Nothing describes the Bush administration quite as well as chicken-shit.
Well I think I’d go slightly farther Boo and say lower than chicken shit.
That whole article was disgusting and depressing to see business so blatantly trying-well they probably won’t have to try very hard-to buy themselves more favorable regulations at the expense of the general public of course.
Since health care is such an issue and that the whole unpaid leave to tend to family matters was so hard won it’s particularly sickening that bushco wants to get rid of that. It’s not even paid leave for shits sake-when I read that some countries have paid leave up to 18 months for new mothers AND the fathers(that’s what I call true family values in action) it only gets more infuriating that a certain faction in this country-unfortunately lawmakers-are so against any kind of leave-even unpaid leave.
the next president will spend their first three years cleaning up messes.
the next president will spend their first three years cleaning up messes.
And then the next year campaigning for office. And if they manage to get re-elected, the next four years cleaning up messes.
It really only took Bush four years to get the country this messed up – the last couple of years have been coasting on the damage he did in the first four. It will probably take a generation of work to clean out the booby traps and the filth he will leave behind.
And that’s not even taking into account the inevitable “corruption cycle” of democratic politics – we’re pretty much assured that in the next decade or so the Dems will suffer enough corruption that they will need to be taken out of power for a while to clean themselves up – and that’ll set the cleanup back for a few years while the GOP screws things up again.
And yet – I STILL feel more optimistic about the future than I did a year ago. Strange that.
I think the wording you’re looking for is:
“objectively pro-chicken shit”
