   The forthcoming volume from Stephen Mansfield, whose sympathetic “The Faith of George W. Bush” spent 15 weeks on the New York Times bestseller list in 2004, is titled “The Faith of Barack Obama.” Its tone ranges from gently critical to gushing, and the author defends Obama-and even his controversial former minister, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright-from conservative critics, and portrays him as a compelling figure for Christian voters.

   Btw, Mansfield is not the first evangelical to hop on board. CBN has been gushing.

   I have a couple of questions:

   1. I thought Wright was retired? How is he going to just push aside his replacement? He’s been there for years, and if he retired, then he needs to keep it that way and keep it moving. If he wants to preach again, find another church.

   2. Why in the hell did they quote Barbara Reynolds, a Clinton supporter, when she was the prime instigator of that mess of an event at the Press Club? They couldn’t find anyone else at Howard School of Divinity to quote?

     There maybe some confusion. It could be the other Minister – the Rev. Pfleger, a guest minister at Trinity United Church, who caught flak over his comments on Hillary. He was suspended:

     Rev. Pfleger to return to St. Sabina with ‘no restrictions’

     He’ll be back at St. Sabina, but he has to stay out of presidential politics

     The South Side parish of St. Sabina exploded with shouts of joy and a standing ovation Sunday morning at the news firebrand Catholic pastor Rev. Michael Pfleger would be returning June 16.

     Cardinal Francis George temporarily removed the outspoken priest from his parish last week following comments Pfleger made about then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. Pfleger had said Clinton believed she was entitled to the Democratic nomination because she is white. Pfleger is white, while most of his parishioners are African-American.
