   After Clark Hit, McCain Plans “Truth Squad”

   Moments from now, three prisonsers of war who endured as much and sometimes worse than Sen. John McCain while in Vietnamese captivity will appear on a conference call to announce they are part of an emerging “Truth Squad” to deal with any future attacks questioning McCain’s fittness as commander-in-chief.

   Let The Games Begin!!

     McCain is teaming up with is none other than:

     Bud Day, a fellow POW who was part of the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth squad that had worked so hard to defame Sen. John Kerry’s own Vietnam record.

   Obama agrees:

   “As he’s said many times before, Senator Obama honors and respects Senator McCain’s service, and of course he rejects yesterday’s statement by General Clark,” said Obama campaign spokeman Bill Burton.

   But still, it’s hard to avoid the conclusion that by condemning Clark’s line of argument, the Obama camp is strengthening the McCain camp’s ability to suggest that his POW bio does make him more qualified to be president than Obama is. And that really is one of the key rationales for McCain’s candidacy.

   Now that’s change right there, a democrat attacking another democrat for telling the truth about republicans!

   Oh wait, that’s what Democrats always do, isn’t it?

     Obama needs to recognize McCain is not about to run a respectful campaign. On Friday, Mcain said Obama can’t be strusted.  

     Obama has gotten too cocky and should be looking over his shoulder.

     TPM’s find: Networking Group Opposing FISA Cave On Obama’s Web Site Grows And Grow

     On Friday I noted that someone had set up a social networking group on MyBarackObama.com specifically devoted to opposing Obama’s decision to support the FISA cave.

     Well, since then it’s grown rapidly: It now has over 4,000 members.

     That’s six times the 500 or so it had on Friday. It’s a strong signal from Obama’s own supporters that they won’t sit idly by when he takes a position that they view as a betrayal of the change movement he’s building.

       yeah, I’m wondering what happens when he defies those 4000 supporters next week.

       It’s not a matter of “if”: you know he’s going to throw FISA under the bus (while pretending he’s not).  And now that people are watching, I think they’re going to start noticing all sorts of irritants.
