Not sure whether I should be happy or sad that the week is half over.  Too much work left to do.

    How is everyone today?

    • AndiF
AndiF on October 22, 2008 at 6:28 am

I’m happy. Every day that goes by is a day closer to retirement … theoretically.

      How are the boys?

      • CabinGirl
CabinGirl on October 22, 2008 at 6:35 am

They were miraculously recovered by lunchtime yesterday…and they’re heading back to school today after being told that the next time they claim they’re sick, they’re going anyway.

Ah, that theoretical retirement…I think I’ll settle for  being a day closer to the weekend and my yoga class. 😉

It’s gotten really chilly here this week, how about out your way?

AndiF on October 22, 2008 at 6:58 am

          That’ll teach ’em. 🙂

Yep, cold here too. There’s frost out there.

We need to start doing something about our leaves, too.  I love all the trees in the summer, but could do without the enormous oak leaves that blanket the yard this time of year.

          • AndiF
AndiF on October 22, 2008 at 7:36 am

I’ve got leaves too but no raking — the joy of having no neighbors but deer and squirrels. 🙂

‘Morning, all, from the snow-tipped Catskill Mountains . Just another fly-by to say hello & thank you, Andi for today’s glorious images.

Someday soon I may have a chance to hang out a bit & catch up with y’all. Suffice to say it’s been quite a dismal year for yours truly.

    Enjoy the day!

    Good morning!

Had a fun experience on the train to work this morning. In my own cocoon, reading a book and headset on, my bookcase w/BT bumper sticker on next to me on the floor.
Eventually realize that the woman next to me is trying to get contact, as she points to my case. Headset off; ‘I read that blog!’ she says. A good, brief conversation until her stop. Not a diarist, but makes the occasional comment. Good to meet you this morning, Errol!

    • AndiF
AndiF on October 23, 2008 at 1:40 pm

That is so cool. I never run across anybody while walking with the dogs in the woods who reads BT. 🙁

go to the airport, pick you up, take you to the house, ask you if you want to go for a walk, and then go for the walk, then yes, I have run across someone who reads BT in the woods while walking the dogs. ;P

Lost my connection to the tubes last night and it’s still gone.

I’ve got connection issues too — it’s raining here so I’m on dial-up. But I don’t really care since I’m happy to trade the satellite connection for that much-needed precip.

          • AndiF

    Good morning!

The dogs look very relaxed, Andi.  What are you feeding them? 🙂

Glad your back-up internet is working, ask.  The downside to living where we live is that when the internet’s out, it’s OUT.  The neighbors are too far away for piggybacking.

So, I was talking to my mom last night, and she told me how my aunt (my dad’s sister) had been talking to her about the election.  “This is so important, and I just felt like I had to do something.”  So what did my aunt do?

Got tickets and went to a McCain event.  As a supporter.

I can’t believe I’m genetically connected to this woman.  My mom says she’s having trouble maintaining a relationship with her, knowing she’s so, um, dumb.

You could slather gobs of this stuff around the edge. I can attest to its effectiveness when applied liberally to car door handles;-)

As an alternative, there’s a really nasty smelling deer repellent I use on the plants around the yard. The downside is the yard smells like something very large died about two weeks ago.

Both methods need renewal after significant rainfall.
