Did Caroline Kennedy’s poodle take a shit on Gary Ackerman’s lawn? What gives?

On a purely political level, they are right on the money. She’s gonna be a hard fix to enforce.
She is a weak candidate, without the public pizzaz or the political experience of even that lame loser Sexy Sarah.
She has literally nothing but her name and bloodline to recommend her. I mean…she may be a very nice, very intelligent woman; I really do not know. But thrown into that shark tank called the Senate? Fuggedaboudit!!! She’ll just be a front woman for whatever they tell her should go down.
As are, of course, any number of other Senators.
But they will keep trying.
Why?
Because they…and by they I mean the Obamas…are going to need EVERY LAST DROP OF POLITICAL MOJO THAT THEY CAN SQUEEZE OUT OF THE DEMRAT SYSTEM AS IT NOW STANDS if they wish to be able to push through the kinds of changes that are going to be necessary in order for us to survive as a nation over the next several years.
Will they succeed?
I dunno.
The Blagojevitch thing may have drained their reserve tank already. We shall see. Paterson is a second generation Dem pol, so he certainly knows how things really work. (Which is very much the way Blagojevitch claimed that they work on those tapes, of course. The real fuss over those tapes? They…and this “they” includes almost the entire politcal/corporate structure of America and the rest of the so-called “civilized” world…don’t want the sucker public to see the inner workings of government. The big fix. Just in Illinois? Give me a break!!! EVERYWHERE!!! Bet on it.)
We shall see.
The vectors are a’pushin’ and a’pullin’ as we speak.
We shall soon see.

One thing she has to recommend her is that she hasn’t had one thing to do with Albany other than, perhaps, asking them to fund schools.
In New Jersey it was a little bit unsettling to see Goldman Sachs exec Jon Corzine buy a senate and then the governer’s seat. But he beat anyone the NJ Dem political party could produce because he hadn’t dirtied himself with pay for play politics.
Of course, we all know that Corzine had been operating on an entirely different level from the alderman from Patterson…
Whatever.
The Kennedys operate on another level, too.
Bet on it.
A “better” level”?
I dunno about that.
That’s getting near the level where wars are started.
Pay for prey.
And yes…that also is the level that produces the (OH so rare!!!) RFK.
We shall see…
AG
it’s also about the only way wars get stopped.
That too.
A wash?
Does it make any difference?
The media is already making up the public’s mind to accept the appointment.

why is she a weak candidate?
i think she is in the lead in polls so far
although i have no idea who else they are mentioning as running or being named also.
she is kinda quiet and mousey and not such a good speaker
same as casey…he got elected
she is certainly progressive in my opinion regardless of what kos says….she is FOR gay marriage….period….thats more progressive and brave than our dear pres elect.
or the current senator from ny
as far as qualifications didnt we just go thru this with obama? he wasnt the most qualified….people supported him for his ideas….caroline kennedy has written books and has opinions and ideas i can get behind.
and im really perplexed that anyone would compare her to palin…palin wasnt qualified to read a book caroline kennedy wrote much less be a president….kennedy isnt running for president she is running for senate…..do senators really do anything except get their agendas based on their ideas promoted in congress? they hire staff who does all the legwork. they vote….is there any doubt she will be a progressive vote in the senate? that she would EVER vote for an anti choice scotus nominee, which we could never count on someone like casey to do. i wonder how her brother, who took what 3 tries to pass the bar, would be treated if he was the one who wanted a senate seat.
i would vote for her and i will do whatever i can to help her get elected.
she really should get a real dog though.
I really have no idea what kind of dog she has.
Her uncle Bobby had a Newf named Brumis, which only proves that he was the coolest brother.
did you see the dancing newfs on animal planet and you tube?
honey the dancing dane is better but its really amazing to see those big guys dancing when you know all they want to do is lay down on a cushy rug and slobber.
no, I should go look for the YouTube.
That’s how the fix works.
She is a weak candidate, anna.
I didn’t say that she is “wrong” in her positions.
I’m not wrong in many of my positions and I write/speak much better than she does but I would not be a very good candidate for the Senate.
Why?
No name, no resume, no sure millions coming in just because I’m there. Nor is that sort of potential upside in line behind any other potential candidate. Andrew Cuomo? A pro. A working pro. I like pros, by and large. I am a pro, ( a professional musician) and I defy any amateur in the world to do even half as good a job as I do on a daily basis no matter what their family connections might be. And…he is a liberal pro, the son of one of the few effective liberal politicians in the U.S. over the past 30 years or so. But the Cuomo name doesn’t pull the same weight as the Kennedy name, so…you’re not hearing about him.
So it goes.

That’s why they are trying to fix the appointment.
I think it is related to Caroline not being in the “bomb Iran” caucus that Ackerman seemingly leads within the Democratic Party.
On a side note, he does realize that “Rembrandt” is a first name not a last one, right?
I think she took a dump on his aspirations of being the junior senator from New York.
she has a poodle
hmmmmm
i dont think i can respect someone who chooses a poodle as a dog
My family had a toy poodle when I was a teenager. Poodles are too smart to be dogs, and too sensitive.
I think it’s a Shakespeare play:
Much Ado over Nothing.
I also don’t think she should get the job and can’t for the life of me see what’s she’s ever done to deserve it, other than keep her nose clean, but, honestly, in the long run, big deal.
what exactly qualifies a person to be a senator?
do people realize that the people who come up thru the system are the ones who are already bought and paid for by the time they get to the senate level?
they already owe everybody and their mistress for where they are and for their organizations and fundraising….whats the difference between them and people who had a dad for a president when she was 5?
she is smart, she has accomplished quite a lot…a lot more than many of the people we have supported for congress around here….im just thinking of all the men we have supported because they were veterans….that was it….we have had stars in our eyes over quite a few army navy boys because why? we thought we could get a few old white male votes from the suburbs if we ran veterans for congress?
lots of double standards
lots
read one of caroline’s books and tell me you dont agree with her platform.
she is exactly what the senate needs.
I think she will be a fine, progressives senator. I too will support her and work for her and I am sure she will get strong union backing. The Kennedys have demonstrated over the years that they are top quality.
Plus she has written a book and passed the bar exam. How could anyone in their right mind compare her to Sarah Palin? Crazy, indeed.
The Columbia Journalism Review focuses on something I’ve been noticing too:
I noticed that, too. But Hillary lost the Rodham when it became inconvenient. Caroline’s just keeping the tradition.
heh
In my comment I originally ended with a statement that this seemed like a double standard when you consider what Hillary went through with the media when she tried to add her own name back as a middle name. But I decided I didn’t want to argue with you about Hillary.
According to this article Caroline hasn’t done much of anything. This seems to have been the media’s doing.
that’s true.
She fought to keep her maiden name before she fought to jettison it.
When I look at all of the pitiful, pathetic, caving Senators in Congress that came up through the political system, I’d rather take my chances with Caroline.
I like this comment!
