Same here. I finally got Mrs. ID’s car dug out yesterday and the rain that was predicted didn’t materialize, so no flooding concerns, at least for now. Its currently sunny and rather pleasant. My mom finally got her assisted living apartment last weekend after waiting nearly 2 years, and we wound up having to dig several hundred feet through about a foot of snow to reach the garage where her furniture was stored. Oh, if it only could have waited another week!!!
Purty day down here – up to 70 and sunny. The Loud Family next door was out before 8am yelling and screaming as usual. I know it’s not very neighborly, but I want to kill them.
It looks like the 50s and sunny here. Most of last week’s big snow is gone, except for the grungy mounds left in store parking lots. Sorry to hear about the annoying neighbors. We had the Inebriates next door for awhile who would usually do battle from around 11:00 p.m. on, loudly calling each other every kind of MF they could think of. Since I’m not a morning person, guess I would prefer late, rather than early noise.
Well, these are the people that put in an in-ground pool almost right below my bedroom window, and occasionally after their kids go to bed (I hope) they invite friends over and do the nasty in their hot tub. Not that I look or anything….
I couldn’t believe how weird everything looked without the snow on it yesterday. That snow lasted a long time. I’m looking forward to the interlude of fresh warm air and sunshine this week.
We made the Sweet revenge cupcakes again yesterday. MMM..I still owe you pictures of them. And my sweater, which I just need to sew the buttons onto (I spent yesterday hunting for my sewing needles to no avail…I’m off to Michael’s today for a new packet of them.
It’s early mud season here — if you stand in one place too long, you start to sink. And it’s supposed to rain tonight so it’s just going to get worse. But the temps are looking good.
Yeah no cupcake pictures and nothing posted in the FFF! Fail! ;P
It’s not a total fail…I did get the ruffles on the sweater, and I made more cupcakes to take pictures of, this time with the parchment papers instead of the traditional cupcake papers.
The bigger fail is my need to complete additional CE credits today because I misunderstood how many I needed…d’oh.
Ah, I’m about half done. It’s not that bad, just irritating that I have to re-do some of them for a mistake that the school of pharmacy made because they’re understaffed and clueless.
I’ll post the pics after I run out for the needles. Heck I have a whole diary of completed knitting projects to post. 🙂
Their eyes are finally open, but only when they are awake, which is infrequently.
So far Gargantua is the most prodigious walker (which is surprising given her heft), taking at least three or four steps before her back legs slide out from beneath her. Both girls stagger like drunks on a week-long bender whenever they get all four legs going at the same time. Thirty seconds of effort requires an hour long nap to recover. The Dude, true to his name, is not really motivated yet.
I’m hoping to borrow a video camera this Saturday and get some footage.
The seem to double in weight every few days. My little kitchen scale only goes up to two kilos (4.4lbs) and they are already well past that in size. Of course, they’re aiming for 90lbs or so by the end of their first year, so speed is of the essence.
It’s hard to believe that little Dude (and he’s still the smallest) will eventually top out around 145lbs.
Yeah, yeah, I know you don’t like for anyone to know your birthday, but I spilled the beans anyway this year. Here’s hoping you and George make a grand reappearance to the Cafe soon and to entice George…
It’s the tinsel.
Good to see you, o luscious one.
Has the cool-down chased your neighbors out of the pool?
Have you considered plants on that side of the house that attract bees?
I think I’ll move instead.
Actually, impending divorce and financial disaster motivates the move, but it sounds better to say the neighbors drove us away. 😉
As some of you know, I’ve had some bad back problems lately so I’ve been flat on my back for awhile. For the last couple of days I can finally stand straight and sit for some periods of time. This has been a quiet B’day, but all of your B’day wishes have definitely made me feel better.
Never thought I’d get tired of laying in bed, but even slacker kings want to move around from time to time. 🙂
It’s good to see you too. At the moment I feel more like strangling George than hugging him. Since my brother has gotten here, he’s been a non-stop barking machine. 🙂
The puppy pictures are a big draw, but George kept wanting me to pull up that picture that SN posted this morning. He seems to go overboard for the tinsel and the tongue. He’s such a shallow dog. 😉
Morning Andi. We got a bit of rain today. Just a drizzle really, but any rain is better than none in our part of the world.
Bush fires are still raging on the mainland, and the death toll will easily top 200, and possibly 300 by the time every house is searched.
Imogen and I are biting the bullet and buying a petrol powered water pump in the next week or so. We’re also going to cut down more of the pine trees in order to create some areas that will have only grasses for a good hundred feet in all directions. If worst comes to worst, that’s the best spot to ride out a bush fire. Of course, I’m all for high-tailing it, but we only have one road in-and-out, and if the fires coming up the road there’s nothing to do but stay ’til it burns past.
On a cheerier note: puppies! Their just settling in for their postprandial snooze. And I should follow suit.
We’ve had quite a bit of snow-melt here, too, but there’s still quite a bit on the ground. Rain throughout the night, plus rain forecast for the day, means a good chance for local flooding. ‘Course, it’ll all freeze tomorrow.
Glad I showed up to catch you here this AM. Not sure why I’m not still asleep, however.
Ooh, I hope so too (unless you’d really, really like the teeth).
The rain seems to have moved north. But there’s still more in the forecast. But I walk in the rain, unless it’s storming or a tremendous downpour — the dogs insist* so I just put on my rain gear and we go.
* dog psychology is so much fun — if we’re walking, getting wet is the bestest thing but otherwise they’re all dog-witches who believe they will absolutely melt if they go outside in so much as a drizzle.
Gee — dog psychology sounds even more interesting than cat psychology.
Frankly, though: picturing your woods (as I can, thanks to scads of great images), puttin’ on the gear & heading out with the dogs sounds quite heavenly. I’ll bet you’ve got some good gear, too, which makes all the difference.
I’ve yet to accumulate decent rain gear — though a very young friend once gave me a cool hand-made rain-hat (a circle of plastic & a shoe-lace).
As for the teeth, I could definitely use those, too — but I’d really rather post images than chew deliberately.
The big melt continues here, with the possibility of rain/thunderstorms. I’d actually welcome the rain. It would get rid of all the remaining accumulated snow, and clean my car.
It’s the little boy in this photo, but his big sister in the photo at the top of the dairy. Squeak is the only one I haven’t caught sleeping on mum’s face.
Although you haven’t had your nose bashed until a Pyrenean has whiplashed his/her dense and sizable skull into your face (not that he/she could see your face back there). A few times I’ve actually thought my nose was broken.
New day, new cafe.
Good morning CG! Cute overload is right.
Hi CabinGirl & boran2! A big awwwwww for the Luna and small cuddly critter photo.
‘morning ID. We’re having the big snowmelt here, how it it by you?
I finally got to clean all the snow from the other car yesterday. Not that I procrastinate or anything.
Heh, I waited until the snow had all melted off the car and just had to do the drive behind it. Great minds…
Purty day down here – up to 70 and sunny. The Loud Family next door was out before 8am yelling and screaming as usual. I know it’s not very neighborly, but I want to kill them.

Hmmm… are they photogenic or eeeewwww?
I guess they’re photogenic, but the ewwww factor is still there. Is it just me, or does that seem unhygienic?
Whatever “floats your boat”, so to speak, I guess. Don’t know as I’d want to participate in any neighborhood pool parties there.
I thought “want to kill them” was the very definition of neighborly, but what do I know?
My jonesing for some cute was about to get out of control.
keeping to the straight and narrow? (I can really enjoy looking at snow pics now ’cause it’s pretty much all gone).

Well since it’s always all about me and what I want — it’s still a total fail. 🙂
Hope you don’t have work too hard on those CE credits.
Ours is finally melting with yesterday’s warm weather. It’s supposed to be 57 later this week. Woohoo!
Hi boran2! Hope your workday isn’t too bad.
I’m looking forward to that springlike weather later this week.
We’ve been having obscenely gorgeous weather. Like Pleasantville.
::huge sigh::
Doesn’t get any sweeter than that.
Morning Andi.
Their eyes are finally open, but only when they are awake, which is infrequently.

That was the sound of my heart melting.
Oh, they’re starting to look like dogs.
Yep, definitely getting to look less like furry kielbasa sausages and more like dogs.
Oh yeah, now that they’re up and about, video is definitely needed.
OMG…This is too much cuteness for 6:15 am….and I can’t believe how big they are already.
Is 6:45 a.m. too little early for a major disagreement? I hope not …
Are you crazy!?! It’s never to early for puppies! Shut your face!!!
Hey, I can hardly type at 6:15 on a good day, let alone with the distraction of heart-melting puppyoid cuteness. What if I have a fatal typo?
Fortunately, a cup of coffee cures this problem in short order. Keres, I can’t wait to see the youtubes of the puppies.
You don’t have to worry about typos — everybody will understand how a tsunami of puppytude can completely carry you away.
The seem to double in weight every few days. My little kitchen scale only goes up to two kilos (4.4lbs) and they are already well past that in size. Of course, they’re aiming for 90lbs or so by the end of their first year, so speed is of the essence.

It’s still amazing. 145 pounds for the little Dude? Yikes.
What great photographs! Those pups are incredibly cute.
Thank you, keres!
Yeah, yeah, I know you don’t like for anyone to know your birthday, but I spilled the beans anyway this year. Here’s hoping you and George make a grand reappearance to the Cafe soon and to entice George…
I second that!
Woof woof, baby! Even I, as a humble monk, can tell an irresistable come-hither look when I see one. That’ll bust George’s lurk for sure.
Happy Birthday, FM! Good morning, all.
Morning Wench! Is it the tongue, or the moist eyes?
It’s the tinsel.
Good to see you, o luscious one.
Has the cool-down chased your neighbors out of the pool?
Have you considered plants on that side of the house that attract bees?
I think I’ll move instead.

Ah. I see what you meant about an ‘eventful’ year last year.
No doubt you’d rather have the neighbors do it.
Agreed! Happy birthday, FM!
yes! Happy Birthday!
Bow. Wow.
Feliz cumpleaños FM.
Thanks for the B’day wishes.
Thanks again and it’s back to slacking.
FM! It’s good to see you here! I’m glad that you are feeling a bit better. Have a good birthday and give a hug to George.
Hiya Boran,
It’s good to see you too. At the moment I feel more like strangling George than hugging him. Since my brother has gotten here, he’s been a non-stop barking machine. 🙂
It’s wonderful to see you.
Hi Olivia and thanks.
It’s always wonderful to see you too.
Ah , the incredible cuteness of puppy pics emanating from the cafe must have proved irresistible.
The puppy pictures are a big draw, but George kept wanting me to pull up that picture that SN posted this morning. He seems to go overboard for the tinsel and the tongue. He’s such a shallow dog. 😉
Plus he really wants to wear the tiara.
Happy Birthday, FM.
Yea!!! Family Man’s here! Hope you had a Happy Birthday with lots of luscious slacking!
George a tinsel fetishist? Why you dog, you!;-)
Hey, happy birthday. Glad you showed up for your own party 🙂
It’s pouring here so I’m sure if I could see out, I would see that the last of the snow is gone.

I’ll post some more pics when I get up.
The fire stories and pictures are just horrifying. I’m sorry for the changes you’re having to make but glad you have some ways to protect yourselves.
Good night and good puppy picture taking.
Glad to hear you’ve remained safe & well/are formulating safety plans for future events (that I sincerely hope will not occur).
That’s a lovely one, Andi. I’d call it lyrical.

Glad I showed up to catch you here this AM. Not sure why I’m not still asleep, however.
I’m glad you like it. How’s the quest for the upgraded browser going (’cause I’d sure love to see your pics)?
I’ve asked my fairy godmother for a system update, which will enable a new browser. Then we’ll see about image hosting.
She tells me there’s something in the mail. I’m hoping it’s the new operating system rather than, say, a new set of teeth.
Still raining where you are? No hikes today?
Ooh, I hope so too (unless you’d really, really like the teeth).
The rain seems to have moved north. But there’s still more in the forecast. But I walk in the rain, unless it’s storming or a tremendous downpour — the dogs insist* so I just put on my rain gear and we go.

Speaking of chewing — must check out for a bit. Hope to see you later.
Me too.
Good priorities — pics first, chew later. 🙂
In the spring and summer, the heavy canopy makes walking in the rain really nice — lovely sounds and keeps a good percentage of the rain off of us.
Can’t wait for that one, myself.
The big melt continues here, with the possibility of rain/thunderstorms. I’d actually welcome the rain. It would get rid of all the remaining accumulated snow, and clean my car.
I’m hoping it doesn’t rain. My sun roof motor is broken and it’s stuck open.
That’s not good. Is there a way to manually close it?
Nope, and it’s making an ugly, screeching, grinding noise. :/ I guess I’ll throw a tarp over it til I win the lottery.
Duct Tape makes everything better. Followed by ten-minute epoxy and cable ties. What they can’t fix ain’t worth fixin’.
Is it always the same puppy who sleeps that way on top of his/her mother? (Why do I think it’s a clingy little boy? Tell me I’m wrong.)
It’s the little boy in this photo, but his big sister in the photo at the top of the dairy. Squeak is the only one I haven’t caught sleeping on mum’s face.
I love the paw in Luna’s eye, and how patient she is.
Reminds me of holding babies who can’t control their motor skills and end up punching you in the eye. Little darlings:)
Or the ones who don’t bash their little heads right into your nose.
Yep.
Although you haven’t had your nose bashed until a Pyrenean has whiplashed his/her dense and sizable skull into your face (not that he/she could see your face back there). A few times I’ve actually thought my nose was broken.
Yeah, if they hit you in just the right spot, even those little baby heads bring tears to your eyes.
Just imagine having a toddler leap into your lap from a table-top — & land right on your nose with her head.
I’m still weeping over that one.
Sorry I had to check out on you earlier, lusciousness. Always good to see you.
She’s more “long suffering” than patient, but it amounts to the same thing.
Well, keres .. I’m hooked on your puppy-pix just like everyone else.
That sure didn’t take long.
Puppies, more addictive than crack (and lots better for you).
