And, for the record, Stokely Carmichael may have lost his patience with non-violent protest but he suffered more for civil rights than most people. He was in prison with John Lewis and the other heroes of the Freedom Rides and he participated in the Mississippi Freedom Summer. Juan Williams should be embarrassed to disparage Carmichael, to whom he owes gratitude and respect. Carmichael was a man. Juan Williams is just a token.

Carmichael in a dress would have been most fitting actually.
Given that some women in the Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC, pronounced “snick”) issued a paper critical of the sexism in the group called “The Position of Women in SNCC”. To which Carmichael replied, “the only position for women in SNCC is prone.”
Interesting, prone not supine. Gives an idea of his tastes.
Indeed.
Token? I was thinking beyotch, but I suppose token works too.
Sounds about right.
Stokely Carmichael was a very flawed person who put himself on the line for the civil rights movement. Juan Williams is a piece of crap.
I stopped listening to NPR because I’d wake up and either Juan Williams or Cokie Roberts would propagandize and frame the news to give the listener the “conventional wisdom” slant of the day.
Williams sucks.
Yeah, I stopped listening to NPR at about the same time.
Juan Williams has been a wanker for so long he has a ‘W’ branded on his ass.
nalbar
Williams is nothing but a house negro.
Williams is a Shuffling Sambo, plain and simple.
and juan williams is a hack
of course hacks are hostile to smart and principled and brave human beings whose very existence makes exposes the life of the hack as no more than the scurrying of a cockroach.
