Who’s got some fresh snow at their house this morning?  We got a dusting overnight, but I’ve heard threats of 3 to 10 inches later today.  Of course, it could just be a grocery store stimulus plan designed to create a run on eggs and milk…

Family Man on March 1, 2009 at 7:04 am

      Morning CG.

It’s snowing here, but at my house it’s not sticking.  It’s supposed to keep snowing until around 11:00 am, so we might get a little on the ground.  Of course in two days it will be up in the mid 70’s again.

      • CabinGirl
CabinGirl on March 1, 2009 at 7:10 am

WOW!  You (and SN) were the last people I would have thought would be getting snow today!

It’s snowing here now after getting progressively colder all day yesterday.  I made a nice big pot of ribollita yesterday, so we’re all set for staying home and hanging out today, maybe taking a walk in the snow later.

How are you feeling this morning? Have they rescheduled your stenting yet?

        • Family Man
Family Man on March 1, 2009 at 7:18 am

The ribollita sounds good.  The local channels have been on just about all night reporting on the snow and showing live coverage of it.

Feeling fair this morning.  Nope, no rescheduling for the stent yet.  I’ll be glad when it’s done though.  It’s getting to be a hassle limping around everywhere, and I just can’t get use to using a cane.

It’s funny with the snow though.  South of us they’re having heavier snow than us.  Damn!  🙂

CabinGirl on March 1, 2009 at 7:24 am

Everybody here loves that soup.  I made mine with applewood smoked bacon instead of pancetta and spinach instead of kale in a use-what-you-have-on-hand moment, and I don’t add the bread to the soup, either.  It was great.

I hope they’re able to get you on the schedule soon so you can get around.  Are the rels helping you out, or driving you crazy?

That’s just bizarre that it’s snowing harder south of you.  So much for global warming.

          • Family Man
Family Man on March 1, 2009 at 7:32 am

I like the use-what-you-have-on-hand type of cooking.  Today George and I are going to fight over a Maire Callenders chicken pot pie.  Just kidding, but those are my favorite prepared chicken pot pies. 🙂

On the stent it’s not the schedule, it’s more of a disconnect between my GP and the insurance company.  I was on the phone Thurs. and Fri. with both and hopefully they’ll have it worked out by this week.

Yep I know it’s bizarre of the South of us snowing.  I was looking at the radar and when the clouds are coming toward my town, they seem to split to the left and right of us.  It appears the weather gods are screwing with me. 😉

          Morning Andi.

The local channels are showing where it sticking to the ground all around us, but no snow on the ground here.  I want at least two feet on the ground.  That way I could throw George out into it and see if he could dig a tunnel back to the patio. 🙂

          • CabinGirl
CabinGirl on March 1, 2009 at 7:30 am

Poor George!  When the snow gets deeper than an inch or two, we have to shovel a path for Phoebe to go out in.  She’s a bit of a princess, our silly little shih-tzu.

The weather last night looked like the snow was going to Alabama in the morning and spend most of its time in Atlanta and points north and east.

I’ve been through two feet of snow. Trust me, you never want to see that much.

Oh Andi, I been in that much snow and more, just not down here.  Except for having to dig my car out, I didn’t mind it at all.  Of course I was much younger at the time. 😉

East of us they’re getting a lot more snow and it should hit over at Atlanta later on today.

I’m ready for spring too.  We keep getting those little teasing tastes of it, followed by another arctic blast.

It’ll be here soon though.  What I’m not looking forward to is the time change.  I’m enjoying having it be light out when CBtY gets on the bus at 7:00.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy the extra daylight in the evening, but as a mostly morning person, I have no problem with the sun arriving early.  Especially since that’s the quietest part of my day here.

I bet all of the excitement will prevent you from sleeping.

And using a cane isn’t so bad.  You can pretend you’re Dr. House and they don’t come any cooler.

Morning everyone.  I found out wine and keyboards don’t mix again last night.  This time I spilled it into the keyboard. D’oh!  I took out the battery and let it dry overnight and it’s almost working, except it feels like there is a carpet under the keys and they don’t have that delightful click click sound.  I’ll have The Boy take it apart and clean it if he ever makes it home from the mountains in the snow/sleet/ice/rain mixture.

UK: Daffodils and snowdrops spring into bloom …

It seems like only yesterday that the UK was blanketed in a thick covering of snow as we shivered through one of the coldest winters on record.

But now, just a few weeks later, snowdrops are blossoming, daffodils are blooming and the first lambs of the year are being born. Spring, it would appear, has finally arrived.

However, Dutch winter coldest in twelve years resulting in a late spring compared to the warm winter of 2007-2008.

I won’t. Fortunately, the county has an incentive program for not giving in to my addiction — four dogs or more and you’re classified as a kennel, which means all sorts of (expensive) requirements.

          Two dogs OTOH ….

          They have pets on craigslist?

What was I thinking? Yes, I got home Friday, at midnight.  And the weekend was pretty full-on playing catch-up for the time I was away.  Including dealing with some very wormy puppies (yech!).

I’m just now downloading the pictures from my camera.  I’ll be back as soon as I have a chance to up load a few to imageshack – including a special surprise visitor!

            Nina’s cria.  A little girl.

They are huge and way too cute.

They are way too cute, and still so young that they haven’t quite figured out how to walk without occasionally landing on their chins.

see, I told you that you’d want a BIG puppy once Luna’s pups were born.

Predictions made at meetups usually come true.  Or something like that.

They look so happy to be exploring the world.

It’s nice to look at puppies rather than my time sheets.  🙂

            Ditto.

Or more correctly, I don’t keep time sheets because otherwise I’d know how much I’m underpaid for the editing and design work.

That’s actually the leaves on the red-hot pokers – we think Luna must have stashed something in there at some point because there was a lot of fossicking about in the leaves.

On Sunday we all took a field trip to the farm where The Dude will soon be living.  There was much romping with goats and eating of cow pies.  I didn’t take the camera because we had more dogs than people.

            Sorry about the worminess.

No, she was actually a little bit over-due.  I was expecting Nina to give birth last week. Which is why we kinda let our guard down – thinking that we may have gotten the date wrong.

Ooh what a cutie; I love the spindly legs. And the puppies have competition!

The Pack says new babies and puppies with worms are a worthwhile excuse for missing their Thursday Dog Blog. So it’s okay by them that you didn’t show.

Sure, we’ll make up the guest bed (or more to the point, move all the laundry off it).

It looks like a windy drizzly day is brewing, so I best get on with my errands.

I’m with you.  I hope Boran didn’t have to spend the night at his office.  Then again, if there was a bar next door, it might not be so bad.

I had another waking up at 11:00 pm last night and haven’t been to bed since.  Already started my second pot of coffee, but my head keeps bobbing up and down.  I might be dozing off here very soon.

Yep I think I’ll be asleep pretty soon.  Sorry to hear that you have a cold.  Nothing worse than trying to sleep with a cold.  Heck just about trying to do anything with a cold is bad.
