This seemed like an important step forward. A Big Thing. We’ll see if anything changes.
in a word: Leadership. More of this, please.
Anyone else catch that?
Obama was terrific. Reasonable. Statesmanlike. Grown up.
Faced with direct confrontation like this, the party of “No” cannot stand.
Let us hope that this is the opening jab to an ever-increasingly strong push-back against the GOP by this President.
This is the kind of thing that gets people motivated again.
I really like the change in tone to a more conversational approach. It was great in the SOTU, and to see it here is very heartening. This kind of thing will poll very well, and that is probably the only language that the craven cretins of Congress (TM) will understand.
President Obama has been attacked from the left and the right. He showed yesterday one of the things he is a master of “Emotional Intelligence” as well as intellectual intelligence. He knows and the rest of us could learn from him that he is the leader of a diverse populace and ideology will not cut it. We need more listening, more sunshine and more sessions like yesterday. The Republican talking points just fell apart in the face of a master teacher. The GOP looked like a bunch of petty adolescents attempting to take on the wise professor.
