Here’s a sample of the anti-Occupy “news” stories that are circulating on the border between the right-wing blogosphere and the mainstream news.
Lonely Conservative: Florida Occupier Stole Homeowners’ Furniture – Said He Planned to Give it Back
New York Post: The hippie Florida mother of four who ditched her children and banker husband to sleep in Zuccotti Park’s squalor hit rock bottom yesterday
Andrew Breitbart: #OCCUPYPORTLAND MAN PLACES SMALL CHILD BETWEEN HIMSELF AND POLICE
Sharp Elbows: Breaking – Sexual Assault at #OccupyStLouis – Cop Says It Could Have Been Prevented
Fox News: Occupy Wall Street Offers Immigration Training for Undocumented Participants
It’s actually somewhat tame tonight. There are often claims of murder, arson, public urination and defecation, and anti-semitism. You know what these folks don’t do? They don’t ever try to dispute the basic facts about income inequality. “Income disparity? Look!! Over there!! Someone’s taking a piss in the alley!”

This is kind of off topic, but I have a question for you.
Reading this diary by Sen. Bernie Sanders at dkos, it made me start to wonder. The Republicans have been abusing the comity of the Senate for eons. Is there any reason, electoral or technical, why Sanders (or someone else) couldn’t put a hold on the bill? I know that the leadership wouldn’t have to respect it, and usually holds aren’t put on big bills like that…but is there any other reason that it couldn’t or shouldn’t happen?
The key to the supercommittee is that the bill is not subject to amendment and does not require unanimous consent to come to a vote. So, it is impossible to place a hold on it.
OK. That makes sense. Thanks.
