It might be the best of a bad set of options for Republicans, the only one that would bring pressure upon Democrats, but it would also force them to openly embrace a tax increase. I don’t see that happening, nor do I see Ryan falling on his sword for the good of the team. Those guys don’t play team ball; it’s every jackass for himself.
That was all I had to read before knowing this guy had nothing worthwhile to say.
Wasn’t there an election since Simpson Bowles reported? And didn’t a guy advocating higher taxes on the rich actually win? Elections have consequences. It’s called Democracy. Get used to it.
