Maybe it’s not on your radar but Costa Rica is acting more hostile to U.S. interests than Vladimir Putin, Bashir al-Assad, and Edward Snowden put together. Tonight’s World Cup qualifier is a must-watch for sports fans. I just hope our players aren’t injured.

I will be watching. The US is riding a 10-game winning streak, which is getting historic for national teams. Tonight’s game is big, but we should get the three points.
On Tues, 9/10, we play Mexico at home. That will be the test. If we can win both games, we are looking very strong. Mexico is not playing well at this time. They lost the semi of the Gold Cup to Honduras. We defeated Honduras easily, and thus (assuming transitivity, which is always present in sport), we should crush Mexico. Were it ever such!
I believe it is a 12-game winning streak…the longest current winning streak in the world.
Barring divine intervention, it will be 13 tomorrow.
I guess God is a tico. Who knew?

The Dutch with Philips Electronics Industries are on target to grab a slice of the civilian drone market in 2014. The domestic spy agency AIVD has learned hard lessons from the NSA espionage and Snowden affair and will introduce the drone for civic coaching. The Dutch cabinet, an alliance of right-wing conservative VVD party and the PvdA labour party has agreed to buy the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter and implement civic coaching by drone. Link video. The third incident is a Dutchman caught in the act of releasing secrets of domestic spying.
I wonder if our boys get hazard pay for that one. Though soccer is curiously rowdy. Even here in Minnesota, the second tier professional team has developed a reputation for, er, “enthusiastic” fans. Bags of urine is a nice touch.
Funny how soccer bring out the best in people.
Mind your pee and q, there buddy.
Btw, where must this sports fan watch it?
ESPN apparently is only showing it on ESPN Desportes Radio, and that evidently means no pictures, and in Spanish to boot.
Find an Irish pub. They often show soccer games that no one else shows.
One here where I live will open up extremely early if there are games being played.
Game is carried on BEIN, which is on many cable networks. 10pm EDT.
Should be a corker.
Michael Bradley limped off the pitch during warmups. That hurts.
That was a disaster.
Finally found beIN after going deep into my cable system’s menu. But only the Spanish broadcast.
Where is Espn on this? Bob Ley, Alexei Lawless and the other guy? All those channels, those billions of $ to spend?
Of course, all would be forgiven if TWC would just start carrying Al Jazeera America.
They’re showing Mexico-Honduras because…higher ratings!!
BeIN bought the rights to the US qualifiying away games. Between perceived lack of US interest and $$ it’s a bit of a wild west on soccer broadcasting, tho that’s changing a bit.
Just saw the gif of the second goal. That was embarrasing. I could have saved that…
I don’t think so. Howard had no chance.
2-1 at the half.
I didn’t see it live so maybe not. I was a state wide goalkeeper in VA, and the gif I saw was kind of “it’s going wide so I won’t try for it” and him misjudging it.
I definitely wouldn’t have saved the first goal though. That was impossible.
Howard is a great keeper and has hauled our bacon out of the fire on numerous occasions but the second goal was not his best moment. Looked like a mental lapse, he just froze.
All that searching to find out where to watch the match and all the hours (well a couple maybe) in anticipation of watching it on something I found called beIN, only to find out it’s a subscription channel.
Sorry, but I’m already paying $100/mo for mostly unwanted junk on my cable system. There has to be something better out there — Dish?
Just a note and a confession: I tried to find an internet-enabled version of Bein, only to spend the next several hours removing malware. There is stuff out there that pretends to be internet version of BeIN, but is malware. In particular, an extremely nasty version of something called vafplayer.
