Since I live in Pennsylvania, my vote in presidential elections counts for less than if I lived in any other state.
How about you?

I live in the swingingingest swing district of the swingingingingest state. My vote counts 5 times yours and infinity times NYorkers.
Hard to believe but Reagan managed to win New York, twice.
counts for less than if I lived in any other state… I doubt it.
We’re not even sure they’re counted in Floriduh.
Yeah, but you got to help vote Santorum out of orifice, didn’t you?
That’s gotta be worth something.
By definition, santorum is already half way out of orifice anyway.
I have never understood why the electoral college is a good thing. We are electing a leader for the entire nation.
Each person’s vote should count as one vote, regardless of where they live. Add up all the votes in the country and you have the winner. I thought that’s how democracy was supposed to work.
That is how a democracy is supposed to work.
The framers of the constitution weren’t the biggest proponents of democracy.
See: President, US; Senate, US.

Each State shall appoint, in such Manner as the Legislature thereof may direct, a Number of Electors…
In most states this meant initially that nobody got a vote for president.
Remember the recount in Florida in 2000?

Illinois doesn’t fare well by that chart but for the dozen smallest states there at least seems to be some party balance.
My main concern is still the swing state factor. It completely distorts the campaigning messages. I’m also concerned that in presidential years it might keep voting a little muted since people don’t watch other contests as much.
Heh. Being a progressive democrat, small d and large D, in Oklahoma, my vote doesn’t count for much of anything.
On the other hand, John McCain….er… Mitt Romney…um…Rand Paul is really going to sink resources into Pennsylvania and turn it red this cycle, so your vote will count after all.
Having lived most of my life in New Jersey, California and Massachusetts I always was seeing more taxes going to the feds than back to the state. Now that I’m here in Oregon I think I might finally see some money coming back.
Don’t sweat it, its not like your vote or anyone else’s will ever effect a policy outcome.
My vote’s never counted in a presidential election, ever. I can’t imagine it getting any worse if I moved to your town.
