   Well, since there is a goodly percentage in our country who, by and large, seem to sleep well at night with what is happening to young black men and women and other people of color, I would say a lot of people would say this is just fine.

   These are brown skinned people throwing rocks and burning tires. To a lot of those who are in power, both here and over there, this is simply their vision of justice.

     It’s even easier than that. Every state around the world has accepted the War on Terror as it has continuously ramped up over the years with most citizens either accepting its premise or not exactly fighting back against it. All they gotta do is say that they’re terrorists and it’s ok. Look at IDF propaganda, and it looks the same as Assadist talking points and police brutality here at home:

     

     Genocide in Myanmar? They’re terrorists. Civilians under siege in Ghouta? Terrorists. Civilians under siege in Afrin? Terrorists. Mosul is liberated, and any collateral damage is ok because we are fighting terror.

     This is the kind of “border wall” Trump and his fascist supporters want. Armed snipers picking off people who get too close, even when they’re carrying nothing but megaphones and placards.

   Las Vegas we saw the carnage that bump stocks could exact and the other shootings we’ve seen what an AR15 spraying bullets could do to victims.

   And then this, where I didn’t see mention of use of assault weapons, so I’m thinking we had aim, pull the trigger, aim, pull the trigger happening. It comes across as so personal, even worse than the random carnage that an AR15 causes.

     We do not see the carnage.  I have read the AR15  creates a hole the size of an orange.  Remember no one understood what the Germans were doing in the work camps until there were pictures.  Once everyone saw that carnage they became death camps. Time for the families here to release the autopsy photos.  A photo of the the 6 holes in Clark’s back…just how local is shooting a unarmed man in the back.

   Well, Las Vegas was a madman, enabled by corrupt gun laws. This is soldiers acting on orders!

   Add to this that it could be Netanyahu engaging in Trump-Bannon-esque ploy to distract from his own corruption scandals.

   But that aside and assuming the facts as reported hold up, yeah, horrible, contemptible, condemnable behavior by Israel.

   The saddest part is there’s no sign of light at the end of the tunnel for the Palestinians. And it makes no sense in that there’s no magical dividing line between Israelis and Palestinians. The latter are almost genetically identical to the Sephardic Jewish population. One could argue it’s a religious war except that the religions are almost identical and the vast majority of Jews are secular. Bottom line, it’s hard to discern what the apartheid in Israel is about at this point. The Palestinians would be smart to convert to Judaism and demand citizenship. Alternatively, they could just quote Talmud: “You were once strangers in a strange land.” (Except that they’ve become strangers in their own land.)

     The attempt to claim that deporting the asylum seekers is not a matter of racism is really a failure of logic in light of the history of the immigration of Ethiopian Jews. This is not the first time that Israel has been forced to deal with black people. It is impossible to separate the present deportation of black people and the fierce opposition of Israeli governments since the founding of the state to the aliyah of black Jews, which relied on excuses related to their halakhic status. After all, we know that even after the Law of Return was applied to Ethiopian Jews, the government still raised many difficulties.

     Eleven years passed, during which thousands of them died in refugee camps in Sudan and on their way there, and Israel delayed the inevitable until Operation Moses in 1984.

     We also know that Israel was very excited about the aliyah of Russian-speaking white people and even made changes in the Law of Return (amending the law in 1970) on behalf of this aliyah, while at the same time it rejected the aliyah from Ethiopia. Three years later, the Interior Ministry headed by Arye Dery – excuse me, Yosef Burg – issued deportation orders to five young Ethiopian Jews who were described as “infiltrators.”

   “But the bottom line here is that the United States of America has got to be involved in dealing with the terrible tragedy in Gaza. Whether it is Syria, whether it is Yemen, whether it is Gaza, we’re looking at the need for the international community led by the US to deal with that situation.”
