Sorry about my disappearance…it seems someone else thinks all mom’s free time are belong to him. To the point that he grabbed my leg yelling “Mine!” one morning this week when it was time for me to go to work. If only he knew how much I’d rather stay home. 😉

I hear we’re having summer like weather today, with a high of 70. I’m actually looking forward to my run this afternoon- its so much easier when it’s warmer.

Tomorrow is CBtY’s 17th birthday-where did the time go? My friend at work made him a special tie dyed  kitkat cake; I can’t wait to see it. More running in my future on that one….

      Good morning.

I think having a sudden growth on your leg sounds like an excellent reason to be unable to go into work. 🙂

Not sure what the plans are yet, although we often go to a kid-friendly Mexican restaurant near their home for birthday and other celebrations. Here’s the serenata del cumpleaños from birthday #5.

Sad news today.  My 101-year old grandmother died this morning.  My maternal grandmother died in 1975, but my grandfather remarried and his second wife was basically my grandmother as far as I was concerned.  So, I’ll be off to Kalamazoo sometime in the next few days for the memorial service.  I did get to visit with her for her 100th birthday.  And she met Finn.  Too bad he won’t remember her.

My sympathy for your loss Boo. Losing the matriarch of a family means losing wisdom, a listener and an advisor. Adds more responsibility on the younger generation. I’m sure you’ll share your memories of her with Finn as he grows older.

Depends on the plant. Personally, I’d be wary. We  could easily get an Easter snowstorm.

      Yes!

All the snow in our yard finally melted this weekend – the temps were in the 20s (70s)! We’re breaking warm weather records each day, as well as nighttime records (it’s as warm over night (10ºC) as it should be during the day for this time of year). And this morning I spotted two yellow crocus flowers in the back garden.

I was walking on snow covered paths a few days ago, and now I’m out in the yard in T-shirts! In March … :-O

  17. NorthDakotaDemocrat
NorthDakotaDemocrat on March 19, 2012 at 6:03 pm

We didn’t quite make the 86F predicted for Sunday. Let’s say it was high 70s depending on location.

Here in the boonies, where the pup and I are currently holed up, the high for today was 75F.

Yesterday in the kitchen I dispatched my first mosquito of the season, and on walk-about saw a small orange colored butterfly.

Today I pulled a tick off the pup that had likely been there a day or two already. So we declared a bath was in order. Next I’ll apply a dose Frontline.

I’d say tick season is at least a month early. Ackk!

We easterners are all in the 80s, but look what Manee’s weather is in Tucson.

      Winter Storm Warning
      Freeze Warning
      Hazardous Weather Outlook

Tonight: A 30 percent chance of showers before 11pm.
Areas of frost after 2am. Otherwise, partly cloudy, with a low
around 32. West northwest wind between 7 and 10 mph
      becoming calm.

Tuesday: Areas of frost before 8am. Otherwise, sunny, with a
high near 57. East southeast wind at 9 mph becoming
      northwest.

Tuesday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 38. North
