(Andi, I was posting from my new toy last night, and after making a comment in the old cafe, I fell asleep.)

Sorry you can’t come home sooner than Tuesday, ask, but the party sounds fun.  Are you starting to feel better yet?

AndiF on August 8, 2008 at 6:54 am

I hope you woke up and got yourself to bed before every muscle in your body turned stiff (or does that only happen to us geezers).

The dogs are telling me to get myself up before their muscles stiffen up so see ya later.

        Hi Andi/Bye Andi.

        Enjoy your walk.

I was actually in bed already…preparing for an early geezerhood, I guess.  🙂

Hope you have/had a nice walk.  I think I’m going to take  a bike ride this morning…work has been DEAD this week, and I’m off through Monday.

Family Man on August 8, 2008 at 6:55 am

If you say it’s a new cafe, then I’ll believe you. 😉

I had a very early start to the morning today.  I was washing/drying clothes by 3:30 am.  It still remains oppresively hot down here.  But we did get a little rain yesterday.  I think our temp is falling to the mid-90’s today.

Ask, I’m sorry to hear you’ve been feeling bad.  I hope you get to feeling better before you fly home.  Being stuck in a terminal or jet while feeling bad has to rank up there with all worst experiences.

Hope everyone is doing fine today.

CabinGirl on August 8, 2008 at 7:11 am

I’m sorry the heat is so awful down there.  How’s Fmom’s breathing with all that?

We’re getting CBtE’s green hair (he’s done orange, pink, and black this summer, and the beach and pool gave him the green) restored to it’s natural color this afternoon.  I’m hoping that this will be the end of the haircolor fun.  🙂

        • Family Man
Family Man on August 8, 2008 at 7:27 am

FMom’s breathing, on the average, has been getting better.  She doesn’t complain about breathing and heat as much as she does breathing and thunderstorms.

I knew someone whose hair turned green.  I forget exactly how she did it, but she was trying to do something with her hair and it came out green.  Hope everything works out fine and CBtE’s hair gets back to normal.

CabinGirl on August 8, 2008 at 7:32 am

            Glad she’s doing better.

CBtE’s hair is long enough that they can cut a lot of it off today, and then just fix the green part (which is only in the front, not his whole head).  I tried to let it go all week this week so that he would be throughly ready to return to his native light brown.  Which he is. 🙂

Enjoying your toy? How is reading webpages on such a small screen?

      • CabinGirl
CabinGirl on August 8, 2008 at 7:15 am

        Glad that’s clearing up.

Reading the pages isn’t bad, you can magnify them big enough to read. It was really cool to be able to post a comment with it last night.

The google maps part is cool…we can see our house on the satellite version.

And my favorite part was picking out a ringtone and editing it myself on iTunes…(“Words”, that 80s classic from Missing Persons, if you must know.)  Now I’m working on getting my calendars and contacts organized on my free trial of MobileMe, so everything is up to date all the time.  We’ll se how that one works…  🙂

It’s a bit of work, but CBtY was having fun doing part of it last night (he was very taken with the idea that I could have a picture of him that comes up when he calls me).  I’m hoping I can get him to do some of the transferring numbers from my old phone (which CBtE has taken over) today.

I’ve been semi-phoneless for a while, so I’m doubly excited to have it.  The sound quality is good, and it’s really easy to figure out and use.  No wonder they’re so popular.

Pooh, I have to go to Boston tomorrow and won’t be home till really late Thursday. Only good thing is no BCROD on this trip — I’ll be trying to break a new software release so at least I’ll get to give in to my most destructive instincts.

Hope everybody has a great Sunday.

I’m sorry, but trying to break the software sounds kind of fun.

Since I am about to have yet another day off work tomorrow, I think I’m going here with the kids and some friends.   I hope the weather’s warm enough for the water rides.

I can’t believe I just typed that last sentence on August the 10th.

Strangely enough, the big guy who wanted to go to the water park has backed out, so it’s just me and all the kiddies, all aloooone.

It’ll be fun, though I haven’t been to an amusement park in almost 10 years.

          When are you leaving?

It seemed like every flight going east was delayed except mine — I guess there were some really bad storms up the coast. Hope it wasn’t too noisy, ask.

    • CabinGirl
CabinGirl on August 12, 2008 at 8:49 am

      Sounds like you lucked out.

Speaking of storms, we had a nice partly sunny day yesterday when we left for the amusement park, and it was cold and raining when we got there (an hour and a half away, but in a different valley), with no sign of letting up (we waited for an hour).

So we turned around and drove home and went to the movies.  I can’t believe I took them all to see Pineapple Express.  My only excuse is that I had no idea what it was about.  It was pretty silly, though.

Today is our second attempt at the amusement park, with a better forecast.

      Hi Andi.

I know it’s YAHD, but it really feels like a Monday because I finally have some work to do today.

Glad I went to the amusement park yesterday while I had the time.  And can I just say, I’m still a fan of the old wooden coaster, and these hulking big steel coasters just don’t do it for me.  About 2/3s of the way up, you start to realize just how tall the thing is, and wonder if you’re ever going to get to the top…

That said, this one was pretty fun.

With all of the traveling you are doing, you could post a photo of different locales each morning.  It would be like AndiF’s travelogue of BCRODs.  Or something.

Thought I’d drop a comment before this old computer freezes up again.

SN that was a good letter.  I doubt they’ll be looking too deeply into McCain’s past.

We’ve had rain for the last couple of days and it has been great.  I went out earlier and it almost felt chilly.

I’m still waiting on my computer to get out of repair, and I’m a little frustrated with it.  I was given a completion date of the 11th.  I called three times and I’ve gotten three different answers.  I haven’t even gotten a call from the repair people telling what they’re going to do or when.  Arrrgggggg!
