A special wish for all mothers whose sons and daughters, husbands or lovers, are serving in the military. May they come back to you safe and sound and unharmed. And for every mother who has lost a loved one due to this terrible war, my deepest condolences.
Morning Steven. I have some thoughts on your post yesterday over here.
And a special wish to all the others out there like me for whom this is a sad day.
Oh, ej, here’s a hug from an honorary mom…{{{{ej}}}}
Thanks SN. It’s hard to believe it’s been over 8 years now.
I am next for a hug. E, it is so sad I know bur she is with you in your memories. Treasure them for I know she would want you to. Very Big Hug from another mom that can never thake your mom’s place but a hug anyhow.
Thanks for the remembrence, ej. I wish you peace.
It’s my first Mother’s Day without Mom. I understand what you mean about it being sad.
Last week I saw “Body of War” and today I thought of the mom in the film as she was seeing her second son off to Iraq, collapsing in tears once he was gone. I thought of all the moms who said good-bye to their sons as they left, for the very last time. I hold all those mothers in my heart today.
God bless them, every single one!
I’d also like to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to those moms in uniform.
Wishing them the courage to refuse deployment to a war they have no reason to fight and therby sparing their own mothers and the mother’s of those they’re sent to kill, unnecesarry grief, heartache and anger.
….and a happy Mom’s day to your wife too, Steven…
Nothing for the million or so Iraqi mothers whose sons or daughters have been killed or permanently maimed by the American mothers’ sons and daughters? And what about the homeless Iraqi mothers whose homes have been blown to smithereens or bulldozed into rubble bu those American mothers’ sons and daughters.
This “terrible war” is not all about, or even mostly about, America, you know. It is, rather, about the victims of America’s aggressions.
