I had one of those “wake up for a half hour in the middle of the night” things going on last night, so I figured I’d surprise everyone with a new cafe. 😉
Purty posey. We’re plum out at the moment, unless you count a few weeds.
We haven’t gotten into Winter proper yet, but between the drought and the short days the plants are all just hanging in there in hopes of a warmer wetter future.
We have rain predicted for the rest of the week — definitely great for the woods but it means it’s even more likely that the farmers will have to switch to soybeans. I hope the politicians realize pretty quickly that the ethanol goals need to be severely cut back.
Hey CG!
Having some Laptop issues this morning (browser keeps freezing up) – reboot/freeze/reboot etc., so things are moving slow.
I’ll go for a walk instead I think – such a beautiful morning here.
Firefox has become a nightmare on all my computers lately…freezing up, shutting down unexpectedly, doing other weird things. I keep trying to remember to switch to Safari, which doesn’t seem to be behaving the same way.
A walk sounds like a great idea, it’s nice and sunny here today.
Well, Firefox is my default browser, but even IE and Opera gives me trouble.
In particular, it happens when trying to open pages with embedded video or graphics (Flash seems to be a sore point).
Our IT always asks, “Have you loaded any new software lately?”
I’ve been plagued with intermittent cursor freeze ups of late, but not just in Firefox. It happens in anything I’m running. Also, it leaves no trail in the event log – just *poof* and its frozen solid. There’s no Ctrl-Alt-Del out of it, either. I have to do a manual shutdown and reboot. It annoys Mrs. Dem in the extreme, as my favorite location for computing is at her business server. Maybe its time for a new server, as we’re on the 2nd main board and that we had to scrounge from a used one.
Well, lot’s of downloads happening, especially if youngest asklet is around (all sorts of games).
Glad you survived your dentist appointment. I better head out for karate practice at 6.
Well it went a bit more smoothly this time at the dentist. After what seemed like a couple of dozen really uncomfortable injections I got a relatively painless crown and 3 fillings in 1 1/2 hours. The painful part will be when the bill arrives;-)
He has been having really bad circulation problems, particularly in his legs, which were causing him to have a lot of pain and swelling. Last month he got stents in one leg which he said helped a lot and this month he is supposed to have the other leg done. So I hope we’ll see him back soon.
Hey, my husband has a girlfriend and we’re still living together. And I actually don’t give a fuck….so hell yeah I’m messed up. But I like messed up. 🙂
I can see that. There’s a lot that i don’t give a fuck about anymore, too. Sometimes life has a way of weeding out the innocuous shit and the rest just becomes sort of…hilarious.
Thanks Andi, that stands to reason, I guess. He’s about 800 in dog years by now, isn’t he? :o)
Seriously though, I get myself out of the loop and then notice, usually long after things have changed that…things have changed.
So, does this stent business mean that he’ll be taking a break from his hectic schedule and taking some time for himself to relax? :o)
I attended an Indians game while I was home and snapped this gorgeous (to me!) picture of Jacob’s Field (ok, Progressive Field but no one will ever call it that). It was about 45 degrees with a nice stiff cold 30-knot wind right off the lake. Ah, springtime in Cleveland…
Yes. There is a voter registration drive, a bowling for Obama fund raiser, a coordinated campaign kick off for the county and a house party for Puerto Rico for Obama plus several house parties for different local candidates and people running for national delegate. LOL
The bowling for Obama thing sounds fun. Not because I like bowling or anything (I think I did it once about 15 years ago), but the idea is funny and I bet the people there would be fun.
Not much of a program today, just karate practice this morning, then young asklet comes over. But tomorrow will be a busy one; ex-wife and asklets are moving to within 10 min. walk from my place. I’ll be carrying boxes and furniture.
Hi everyone! I had to leave home early this morning, but stopped at noon for a brief hello and brunch. Back out this afternoon for a trip to an even more southern Indiana area for the funeral of a colleague who was a local public servant for something like 38 years.
Morning Miss Andi!!! I will be working on designs and cleaning up my design sites. I am thrilled that vafe press is offering embroidery on certain new items and I need to get designs prepared for them.
Saturday wasn’t too bad — it didn’t rain and we got all our errands done.
Today will be busy for me because I’ve got an early morning flight on Monday and will be out of town till late Wednesday so I’ve got to get a bunch of stuff done and then try to get to bed early.
Good morning ask! I’ll be heading out later to spring my 90 yo mom from assisted living for some home cooking at our place. Hope your day is a pleasant one.
Have a new cafe to celebrate-
Wow, you’re either up really late or way too early.
Hope you’re busily snoring away now.
I had one of those “wake up for a half hour in the middle of the night” things going on last night, so I figured I’d surprise everyone with a new cafe. 😉
Why Thankee.
Purty posey. We’re plum out at the moment, unless you count a few weeds.
We haven’t gotten into Winter proper yet, but between the drought and the short days the plants are all just hanging in there in hopes of a warmer wetter future.
I sure wish I could share our wet, wet, wet spring with you. The weather gods appear to have decided to wash away all memories of last year’s drought.
We must be getting all of our rain plus yours. It seems like we hardly see the sun lately.
Well that was very sweet of you but I sure hope you have time for a nap once you get the CBs off to school.
CBtY is off to his school camping trip today…gone till Friday!
I’m sure I’ll squeeze in a little snooze somewhere.
posted this in the wrong place. It’s supposed to be up above. Maybe I’m the one who needs a nap.
I heard a story yesterday about the farmers not being able to get the corn in because it’s too wet — more “fuel” for the ethanol food crisis.

Nice picture – so green!
The stupidity of the ethanol food crisis leaves me speechless.
We have rain predicted for the rest of the week — definitely great for the woods but it means it’s even more likely that the farmers will have to switch to soybeans. I hope the politicians realize pretty quickly that the ethanol goals need to be severely cut back.
Good morning CabinGirl, Andi & keres! Another afternoon at the dentist for a crown placement <sigh>.
Good Morning ID!
I’m sorry about the dentist appointment this afternoon. I hope it goes smoothly.
Thanks, CabinGirl, see reply below to boran2.
Good morning, everyone!
ID – you’re giving me a timely reminder, I need a crown replacement as well. Ugh!
Hi ask! what are you up to this morning?
I loved your cartoon in the other thread, btw.
Hey CG!
Having some Laptop issues this morning (browser keeps freezing up) – reboot/freeze/reboot etc., so things are moving slow.

What browser?

There’s an exciting news flash over at ManEe’s diary!
Good luck with that. I just saw mine recently. Unfortunately I’m going back in June to fill a groove in one tooth with that composite material. 🙁
Well it went a bit more smoothly this time at the dentist. After what seemed like a couple of dozen really uncomfortable injections I got a relatively painless crown and 3 fillings in 1 1/2 hours. The painful part will be when the bill arrives;-)
Glad it went smoothly!
(and thanks for reminding me it’s time for us to all go to the dentist again already.)
What’s happened to Family Man?
Hey super!
Some health issues, we got a brief update (can’t recall from whom) a couple of weeks ago.
He is certainly missed by the morning crew.
He has been having really bad circulation problems, particularly in his legs, which were causing him to have a lot of pain and swelling. Last month he got stents in one leg which he said helped a lot and this month he is supposed to have the other leg done. So I hope we’ll see him back soon.
That’s what he said – but I have it on good authority that he and FMom are sitting around the cement pond eating fudgesicles.
You’re messed up :o)
Good to see you … 🙂
Hi Olivia :o)
Nice to see you too, of course :o)
Of course I am. 🙂
Introspection? It’s a step :o)
You’re exactly right.
I meant that i can relate. Not that I see that in you specifically ;o)
Thanks Andi, that stands to reason, I guess. He’s about 800 in dog years by now, isn’t he? :o)
Seriously though, I get myself out of the loop and then notice, usually long after things have changed that…things have changed.

He’s been relaxing a little bit more than usual…despite his slacker image he works his fanny off.
I’m sure he does. It always sounded to me like he was the glue and the engine that keeps his family together and firing on all cylinders.
Bye-bye blossoms.

Nice perspective on that second photo. 🙂
You scared me! What are you doing up so early?!!!?
can’t sleep.
So are you going to take advantage of that and go take sunrise pictures? 🙂
no
🙂
of insomnia if you don’t put it to good use?
and why compound the feeling by having to work on top of it … ;P
(maybe you can take a nap a lunch)
The dogs are pointing out that some of us will go see the sunrise (metaphorically only, since it’s overcast) so I’m outta here for now.
Hope your day doesn’t go too badly.
Have a nice walk!
Ugh, I’m sorry you can’t sleep. It must be going around this week.
You’ve got it too, have ya … :/
Yep. I don’t seem to be able to stay asleep this week, which isn’t usually a problem for me…
I’m going to try a long walk today and I have yoga tonight, so maybe that will do the trick.
How about you?
I think my long … loooooooooonnnnngggggg … day in cubeville did the trick … lol … I’m really dragging right now. 🙂
I think your way sounds much better – I hope it works!
Wow! That almost doesn’t look real, with that amazing blue swirling in the sky.
How was the game, btw?
We ended up leaving early because my nephew, who is wheelchair-bound, was freezing. The Indians came alive as soon as we left…. 🙂
I’m sure it was just a coincidence that they came to life when you left. 🙂
That is a really fantastic picture.
And the lights … nicely done SN!
Thanks, O. I do love the ballpark..
Posting remotely, good evening all!
Posting remotely? Did you get an iphone or something? 🙂
Not in my normal location. I’m in Cape May. 😉

Are you having a rain day too?
Good morning, Andi and CG!
Gray morning here and rain expected. Ugh.
Looks very Land Before Time-y.
Rainy here too.
There’s a chance of rain both today and tomorrow so I’ll guess will find out how the weather gods feel about this year’s 500.
Good morning Andi. Is anybody else up?
I guess only those with dogs who have a sunrise routine. Mine let me sleep ’till 6:30. I’m celebrating.
Morning Alice and Miss Andi!!!
And good morning to you, rf!
Busy day ahead?
Morning Ask. Today should be a busy one. I actually have to try and decide which out of 12 different events I am going to today. LOL
Makes me happy for my little list of 4 things. 🙂
LOL Living in the state capital and being a political activist can be daunting at times but especially during this election cycle.
I suspected as much!
Yes. There is a voter registration drive, a bowling for Obama fund raiser, a coordinated campaign kick off for the county and a house party for Puerto Rico for Obama plus several house parties for different local candidates and people running for national delegate. LOL
Well given how I feel about bowling, I know which one would be at the bottom of my list.
Speaking of my list, I need to go get started on it.
Have fun figuring out what you want to do.
The bowling for Obama thing sounds fun. Not because I like bowling or anything (I think I did it once about 15 years ago), but the idea is funny and I bet the people there would be fun.
Good morning, Andi and Alice!
The forecast was for more rain, I’m happy to report they were wrong. Woke up to clear, blue skies.
And so do you have nice plans for your surprise blue-skies day?
Not much of a program today, just karate practice this morning, then young asklet comes over. But tomorrow will be a busy one; ex-wife and asklets are moving to within 10 min. walk from my place. I’ll be carrying boxes and furniture.
Playing pack mule is so much fun. LOL
Hope the blue skies hold through Sunday.
Time for me to get started on my day. Hope you enjoy the day.
A 10-minute walk? That will be so nice for you!
Morning!
It sure will and we both look forward to it.
What’s up at the cabin?
I’m the only one up (although I hear CbtY turning over in his bed) so far. I’m enjoying the quiet.
I have to run out for chicken feed this morning, and we’re going to have my mom over later for dinner on the grill and birthday cake.
And somewhere in there I’m treating myself to a few hours of clothes shopping. 🙂
…a few hours of clothes shopping.
I’m sure that’s well deserved.
swimmer had her last exam yesterday and is now working in a store to save up for her big trip this summer.
Wow. She’s done really early! CBtE isn’t finished for 2 more weeks, and even that’s early for around here.
It’s only in the final year that it is so early – otherwise in June.
Ah, sleeping till 6:30. Wouldn’t that be grand. 😉
Hi everyone! I had to leave home early this morning, but stopped at noon for a brief hello and brunch. Back out this afternoon for a trip to an even more southern Indiana area for the funeral of a colleague who was a local public servant for something like 38 years.
Looks like another rainy day here but yesterday turned out to be not too bad so I guess I can’t complain (oh yeah, just watch me)
Hope everybody has a good day ahead.
Morning Miss Andi!!! I will be working on designs and cleaning up my design sites. I am thrilled that vafe press is offering embroidery on certain new items and I need to get designs prepared for them.
Bloggers for Obama
Did you get through most of your list yesterday?
LOL Yes I did. I am hoping to have a quiet day at home and get some work done today. How was your Saturday?
Saturday wasn’t too bad — it didn’t rain and we got all our errands done.
Today will be busy for me because I’ve got an early morning flight on Monday and will be out of town till late Wednesday so I’ve got to get a bunch of stuff done and then try to get to bed early.
Good luck with that and I know how much you hate traveling. LOL at least for work. I hope the first half of the week goes by fast for you.
Well, this trip is to the “home office” so not so bad — I can dress in my usual slobby clothes and won’t have to spend much time in conference rooms.
Good!!! I am sure the home pack will be glad when you return. LOL
Speaking of the pack and getting busy, time to go for a walk.
See ya.
Have fun!!!! See ya
Good morning Andi & refinish69 & anyone else who’s stopping by this morning!
Good morning, ID!
Just got on. Young asklet is still in bed, but we have a busy day ahead so better get going with b reakfast.
Good morning ask! I’ll be heading out later to spring my 90 yo mom from assisted living for some home cooking at our place. Hope your day is a pleasant one.
