Precisely. It demonstrates that taking out regimes you don’t like – like Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi – has consequences, and that if you don’t have nuclear weapons and the means to deliver them, you had better get them. Otherwise you rule only at the pleasure of the American President (or the CIA).
I don’t see the problem. The article hinges on the US invading North Korea.

I don’t think the N. Korea is run by a mad man, he is pursuing a very specific strategy, to keep himself in power. Trump’s actions are just playing into his hands.
