It Sucks To Be You – Avenue Q Soundtrack
and thanks for the reminder — I’m going to be in Las Vegas week after next and I want to see if I can get a solo ticket to the Avenue Q production that’s supposedly at Wynn Las Vegas; unfortunately all the Cirque du Soleil productions are going to be dark that week in prep for the holiday rush. (Friend of mine was supposed to be getting married there — she cancelled out but I said screw it, I’m going anyway…)
Heh, why not as long as you’ve got the tickets, right? 🙂
Avenue Q seems to be a pretty hilarious concept. Up until today when I found the soundtrack I had only heard The Internet Is For Porn and seen a clip of it someone had uploaded to YouTube. Still working my way through the numbers.
Not sure what I’ll I’m going to do while I’m there — I’ll have the laptop so I can maybe do some writing; maybe capture some of the scenery in words for future story ideas, maybe do some people-watching for character inspiration. Plan to catch a couple of things I missed on my previous trip a couple of years ago…want to see the Siegfried & Roy Secret Garden at the Mirage (the tigers and other animals are still there, even though the show is gone) and Star Trek: The Experience at Las Vegas Hilton. Weather permitting, I’ll do some photography of the sites. And I’m going to attend one show — got a ticket for the Improv at Harrah’s; assuming Michael Richards won’t be the headliner. lol
Other than that, I’ll probably just mellow out, maybe do a wee bit of gambling, but just enjoy the break from domesticity…

Just got home from the mall — I refuse to set foot in one (if I can help it) until Valentine’s Day at the earliest. Or maybe I can go on a weekday when most of humanity is allegedly at work/school — that was the worst experience of my life. (I wouldn’t have gone except I had to get a pair of shoes exchanged — the clerk took pity on me and did a straight exchange even though the shoes I exchanged for were about $10 more. I must’ve looked quite frazzled…)
Anyway, a semi-random 10; semi because I used my “Top Favorites” playlist that has my 5-star rated tunes:
Get Busy — Sean Paul
It’s the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine) — R.E.M.
Bangkok/One Night in Bangkok (from Chess) — Murray Head
You Gotta Be — Des’ree
Kashmir — Led Zeppelin
You Can Call Me Al — Paul Simon
Keep Your Hands To Yourself — The Georgia Satellites
Personal Jesus — Depeche Mode
Roundabout — Yes
Can’t Find My Way Home — Blind Faith
Bonus Track: Someone Saved My Life Tonight — Elton John
Need to rest up for shopping part deux, namely groceries…
“Boran2’s FRT is magnificent!,” said the Lord.
“It’s wonderful!,” said the Lady.
“It’s the best ever!,” said the Duke.
“But…but… he’s naked!,” said the little boy, “He’s got no clothes!”
“What the Hell’s wrong with you kid?,” said the Lord, aiming a casual slap at the boys tousled head. “Of course he’s naked. Boran2 is always naked in Lounge. Anyway, we’re talking about his FRT, you little simp.”
“Sorry,” said the boy, rubbing his head. “It’s my first time in the Lounge and I didn’t expect to see a naked man. But you’re all dead on. His FRT is stupendenous.”
“Damn right,” said the Duke. “Now piss off, you git.”
Hi everyone, or is anyone around, I thought I might spend some time in the cafe….yoohoooooooooooo.
Maybe even Shirl toooooooooo.
Oh I took a pic of a hummingbird today and I’m gonna go and get it ready for posting….I took it through glass and I have been trying to get a pic of this bird that visits my mystery vine everyday, but usually they are too fast for me to get camera ready, today I got lucky.
So, I’ll be back in a bit.
I was in such a hurry to post I forgot to ask if anyone could identify the vine in the pic. Flowers start out bright purpleish blue and then turn pink the next day when the bloom is done.
Hi EMJW, how’re you doing.
The flower looks a lot like morning glory, but the flower clusters are different as are the leaves. I have spent hours searching for a match. I love the plant which I started from a plant I dug up at daughters and it’s just growing like crazy, in all direction and I am hoping for it to completely cover two of the walls. I will see if I have a better pic of it.
Hi SN how are you….
Thanks, just wish I had Olivia’s camera and ability, the bird had beautiful green feathers on his/her back….he makes tiny holes at the base of each flower. I hope there are more than one of these, I love them.
I took them from inside my house, so the bird didn’t know, it spends a lot of time frittering around these flowers, but pretty fast so I can’t catch it in the pic, I was actually amazed I got it at all because as soon as I clicked it was gone from the spot. Also I do not have a good place to stand so I have to get in odd positions to snap the pic.
Kill it now or it will take over you garden and kill everything. The vine, not the hummingbird. Although I would keep it away from Andy as she apparently serves small animals as part of holiday feasts.
I only have a small amount of dirt around me in which to grow anything, most all of my plants are in containers and where this vine (along a narrow strip of earth)it is located I want it to take over, I have two large walls to cover and the vine is beautiful.

(I’m just going to pretend that I posted my random 10.) Here it is:
Isn’t it cool?!!
“Boran2’s FRT is magnificent!,” said the Lord.

I’m around 🙂
Can’t wait for the picture, those hummingbirds are quite elusive!
I was in such a hurry to post I forgot to ask if anyone could identify the vine in the pic. Flowers start out bright purpleish blue and then turn pink the next day when the bloom is done.
Hi EMJW, how’re you doing.
Doing ok, this Thanksgiving hasn’t been the most relaxing I’ve had, but has still been ok.
I think maybe olivia will have to answer you regarding the vine, my rank as a botanist is somewhere right below ‘novice’.
looks like a morning glory.
The flower looks a lot like morning glory, but the flower clusters are different as are the leaves. I have spent hours searching for a match. I love the plant which I started from a plant I dug up at daughters and it’s just growing like crazy, in all direction and I am hoping for it to completely cover two of the walls. Hi SN how are you….
Like the U.S., his/her left wing is all but invisible in that bottom pic 🙂
Great shots Diane!
Thanks, just wish I had Olivia’s camera and ability, the bird had beautiful green feathers on his/her back….he makes tiny holes at the base of each flower. I hope there are more than one of these, I love them.
I think maybe olivia’s ears are twitching, we mentioned her within about 4 seconds of each other 🙂
Can you see it in the top pic, almost looks like a leaf.
I sure can! I’m amazed that you were able to get two such great pictures without it flittering away.
Kool pics Diane!
Glad they came out as good as they did.
Anybody wanna fight about anything? Diane got me all primed for a good verbal tussle. . .taught me everything she knows, so watch out. . .LOL!
Hi Shirl, sorry I missed you.
Look up “bindweed”

I like these photos, diane. I couldn’t tell you what the flowers are. You must have been quick to catch a shot of the hummingbird.
