Puerto Rico is devastated. There’s no power on the island and it could be months until it is restored. We’re going to have to pull together and come up with some innovative and creative solutions here, because we haven’t seen a humanitarian crisis in our country like this in my memory.

Why should we help them at all? We should be focusing on helping Americans!
We know that’s what he’s thinking. This is gonna be abominable. A shonda on our entire nation. Like Katrina, but this time, with so much insanity going ok, most of America will fail to pay any attention. They’re brown, after all.
I’d bet most Trumpsters don’t known Puerto Ricans are U.S. citizens and have served in our many wars. Won’t they be shocked!
You write:
I repeat…and remember this is from someone who played for 20+ years with people like Tito Puente, Chico O’Farrill, Celia Cruz and God knows how many other Fania/Salsa/Afro-Cuban recording artists:
Watch.
Bet on it.

The irony here is that if Donald Trump spearheaded a massive rescue and reconstruction effort for Puerto Rico and other places hammered by recent natural disasters, he could actually experience what it means to be a great leader.
Ain’t gonna happen. To do great things, you have to be at least a tiny bit great and he isn’t.
Sounds like a job for Ben Carson. That man has billions to spend on reconstruction.
Sorry, too busy wrecking healthcare. Also, Puerto Rico has no voting reps in Congress, so who cares what they think or what happens to them?
Now is the time for Puerto Rico to go to solar and wind power with a distributed network that doesn’t depend upon imported oil used in large, centralized power generation facilities. Small rooftop solar units to provide each household with temporary power are cheap to install and are being more widely used even in the poorest countries in Asia and Africa and that should be a first step. Bigger units can be used for schools, hospitals and other priority public facilities. As an island nation, PR is an ideal place for offshore wind turbine farms. With climate change leading to ever-warmer ocean waters, we will continue to see these huge hurricanes well into the future.
Sounds like a job for Rick Perry.
I predict the donald is going to do every thing possible to keep all those brown and black Americans on that island. First, he is going to declare martial law and send in the military. Kick out the press and do what ever it takes to prevent the flow of brown and black refugees to the mainland.
