John Kerry all but made it clear today that he intends to run for president again in 2008. Interviewed by Bill Sammon of the Examiner, Kerry doesn’t believe the conventional wisdom that Hillary Clinton is the front runner.
He also said that he also intends to take the swiftboaters on personally. In 2004, the swiftboat veteran for “truth” made a series of commericals attacking Kerry for his Vietnam military service. He said he is ready to “kick some swiftboat ass”.
My personal opinion, I like Kerry, but he had his chance. I don’t know if the Democrats are so willing to give him a second one.

He’s about 2 years late to kick some swift boat ass. You’re right, he had his chance.
Yea. when did he wake up?
Yeah, what SN said. If he wanted to take the Swiftboat Liars on he should have done it in 2004. If he runs again he is going to be tagged not only as a big scary liberal, but a big scary liberal loser.
I don’t think Hilary can win even if she is the Democratic standard bearer. Personally I still haven’t seen anyone who’s running that I like better than Russ Feingold. That could change, of course, depending on who decides they’re running.
Beyond being a surrender monkey to the shit boat people, he caved in on the vote count in Ohio.
Exactly…it wasn’t just the swiftboat fiasco that did him in but the record speed with witch he conceded election to bush. Kick all the as you want Johnny boy…you’re a few damn years too late. Oh yeah and wouldn’t it have been nice for him to just slap bush on the back once during the debates-right on bush’s little monitering pack he was plugged into or whatever the hell that was.
:o)
Nothing like a little feedback!
Then there is the fact that almost any Demo you can name doesn’t have to translate his/her speech from the original Latin, as Kerry does. Somewhere, somehow Kerry learned never to use a 5-cent word when a 5-Dollar word was available.
OK, I feel compelled to speak up because I like John Kerry and would vote for him in a primary over most of the other Dem big names without hesitation. I don’t understand why Kerry is so criticized for intelligent and nuanced speech, as if speaking in oversimplified generalizations is a special American virtue. Kerry strikes me as a decent man and his every attempt to engage the electorate with thoughtful, even progressive policy ideas was scoffed at by the media and shouted down by repub bullies who were enabled by many on the left. I think he has learned a lot and deserves the right to say so.
Russ Feingold would be my top choice to head up our government but it ain’t gonna happen, because 1) he’s Jewish and 2) he’s too far to the left of the average Joe.
I like John Kerry too but I LOVE Russ Feingold. He is not far left but I can see him easily being painted that way. Sigh.
