I’d feel worse about being from New Jersey if it weren’t for Louisiana.

Edwin fucking Edwards is still around. Just what the Democratic party needs in the 21st century, an old-fashioned unrepentant crook.
And I bet the Democratic machine in Louisiana recruited him because he’s a “proven winner”.
I’ve not seen either party ever so intent on self-destruction as both parties this year.
Too bad none of the third parties can get their acts together.
On the one hand sometimes I get frustrated that there’s nothing anyone can do. Other times I just remember that’s standard for human history and the boomlet in bourgeoisie governance was an outlier.
I’ve never felt bad about being from New Jersey.
This guy has an infant child? Is his wife 40 years his junior?
Didn’t you read the Drudgico story? His wife is 35!! Which means she is 50 years his junior!!
Didn’t notice that detail. Thanks for pointing it out. The wife is young enough to be his granddaughter. I find that really weird.
It’s not so much the 50-years-younger wife that gets to me – “trophy wives” is a phrase, that sort of thing is so common – as the infant son. What kind of egomaniac fathers a child at that age?
The same kind, I guess, that goes to prison for a decade and jokes about it as being basically irrelevant, having learned nothing. The only reason he’s even a Democrat is that his political career started while Jim Crow was still the law in his state, and he was sitting so pretty in his corruption that he had no need to change party.
And he will likely win too.
Actually, if it was at all possible, he could run for Governor and still win.
What’s worse than NJ and LA, CAROLINA!, both of them!
I’d feel worse about being from Louisiana if it weren’t for Mississippi. 🙂
Indiana is striving mightily to lower itself to their standards. Plus its cold.
