George W. Bush said something about not being a troll. Or not trolling. Something like that. I think he should be banned.

Maybe he’ll come to the EastCoast Meetup (pat pending) so that I can personally poke him in the eye. Then he can be banned.
He is just Setting the record straight. Not trolling, just looking at “Every Call Ever Made”. I think he has cleared up any confusion that might have been out there. Eh?
That was one of the weirdest statements I have ever heard. The White House was supposedly reacting to the news in USA Today, but everything Bush said related to the story that broke in December, with no mention of the type of spying they described in this morning’s paper except to reassure us that they wouldn’t do what they’re doing without actually denying that they’re doing it. Did it make any sense to anyone? Was the purpose to confuse everyone? If so, you can finally say the administration did a damn good job at something.
Revisting an interview this morning with one of my favorite contemporary poets, I came across this quote to share:
I think he should be banned.
I think he has never used a computer in his life, so he probably wouldn’t notice.
Aside from online punishment, I think he should be burned at the stake, but that probably isn’t happening either.
In about 2.5 hours I’m hopping in my car and heading down to New Orleans.
Does anyone have any recommendations or suggestions for things that are absolutely not to be missed while I’m down there?
Also, I’m planning to do a photo diary of my trip when I get back. That will be up sometime after 3/20.
5/20, not 3/20. Duh.
I was last in New Orleans 13 months ago so my recommendations wouldn’t be up-to-date. I assume from what I see on TV that the French Quarter is still pretty much the same, and sort of like Las Vegas everyone should experience it at least once even though I personally am not much of a fan. Other than that, I don’t have a clue anymore. If Jazzfest is still going on, you can find a great concert just about any time of day.
Yeah, I’m definitely planning on spending a full day exploring the French Quarter. I think jazzfest ended last week, I believe it usually happens end of April through the first few days of May.
I’m also definitely going to see some of the old plantation houses, and I figure while I’m down there I may as well take a swamp tour too.
Depending on your budget the food. God the food is great down there.
Be safe and careful on your trip.
Thanks FM. Food is definitely near the top of my list of things to check out. I love spicy, so I think I shouldn’t have any problem finding something to my liking 🙂
Don’t take this as maudlin, but check out the old cemeteries. They’re comprised of above ground crypts and, in the past, exquisitely maintained. Very beautiful, solemn places and offer a great deal in terms of photography.
Safe travels, ej.
Thanks dada, that is a great suggestion.
Have a safe trip, ejmw. Check your email before you go.
🙂
Got it! I don’t think there is any way I can go a whole week without internet access, so I’ll try to check out the details for the meetup (and maybe post an update on what I’ve been up to) sometime early next week.
Looking forward to Memphis already! 🙂
Just came across His Royal Assness on CNN giving a comencement speech in Mississippi. This guy is without a doubt drinking and/or drugging. He is slurring his words and far to screechy to be sober. Anyone else see this?
