Nothing major. It’s just an Executive Committee position, but I guess you have to start somewhere. It just seemed strange to be filling in that little circle next to my name, on a ballot filled with all those high profile politicians. And there at the bottom was little old me.
Out here in spring weather in southern Colorado (cold clouds, brisk wind, damper than most of the time), my Philly friend and I (grew up in New Jersey) just pulled up the Mt Holly radar. Significant training of some serious storms, so yeah, keep to the high ground.
As I sat and listened to the details on this news trickle in last night, a level of rage and nausea came over me that I had not experienced since I sat in the comfort of my recliner and helplessly watched, sickeningly shocked, as I saw my fellow Americans dying, in real time before my very eyes, in the streets of New Orleans during Katrina. While most everyone else, including our President, acted as if this was just another day at the office, and that these people were simply deserving of their fate, as any other conveniently disposable human beings might be.
The people who did this need to be held accountable. If these people really represent who we are, then we should all be damned to hell.
What kind of demented torture chambers are we running? For God’s sake, get those folks some powerful heroin! Aren’t hundreds of people overdosing every year/month? Why do we need these special concoctions of designer drugs to do what our fields of plenty in Afghanistan eternally provide?
If I were a death row inmate, I’d make it my religious belief and demand to be put down ORGANICALLY!
Schuylkill is just past peak flow of 90,000 sqft/sec at boathouse row. That’s maybe top 7 recorded since the 19th century, about equal to Floyd in 1999, higher than anything else since 1946, (consider recent direct hits from Sandy, Irene!).
Ehhh, you know how it is. Clouds roll in, heavy rain comes down. You can’t explain that. Just another of god’s mysteries.
I think I just saw Noah floating by.
Early voted today for next weeks primary election. Kind of weird to see ones own name on the ballot.
What office are you running for?

well good luck!
Thanks!
I still have many friends and relatives in and around Cincinnati.
What district are you in, I can make sure they get out and vote.
Oh, it’s not a statewide position. Just county level.
Yeah, what county? I can tell friends and family in Hamilton, Clermont, Brown and Montgomery. If you’re in Butler or Warren, I can’t help.
I am in Warren County. But thank you. I appreciate your offer.
(looks over at you from 80 degree sunny seattle)
(goes back to eating my indian food)
I’m up in Bellingham. Gorgeous day. :0)
