What got me here, besides the brilliance of the music itself, is the hshowing of uman connection that can be brought on by artistic discovery. The plot of this film has the pair working with this rhythm section and studio engineer for the first time. It’s an exciting outcome, eh?
The pair make this discovery earlier in the story when they perform “Falling Slowly”, but this is even more resonant to me than that spectacular but more private high point.
If you go to the 55th minute, you’ll get the beginning of Lost Sailor.
This is a legendary show because it has perhaps the best Feel Like a Stranger ever done, an astounding Music Never Stopped, an incredible Cold Rain & Snow, the best Lost/Saint I’ve ever heard, an insane Uncle John’s Band, and the best Morning Dew of the 1980’s. It was also my first show of about 80 straight Dead shows I saw between 1984 and 1990.
I can’t really describe the fugue state that I went into during the Lost Sailor at this show, but the shoreline sirens definitely beckoned and called me to pursue my freedom even though it would never be easy.
And so you follow that dream, because you gotta follow that feeling. On the top of the mountain, you can see far and wide but you still can’t see that other mountain’s other side.
It’s a face you’ve never seen, it’s a place you’ve never been.
Yes, but Maradona wins because someone synchronized that video to make it look like he was dancing/whatever along with the beat for a bit. Unless Napoli actually played that song pre-game back then.
This is pretty terrific; hadn’t heard it before.
This one changed my life:

Mr. Clark gets a lot done petty promptly and pleasantly there. In and out.
…pretty promptly, I meant…
Thanks for this one!

Amen.
Might as well decide to welcome the strange faces and places, eh?
This is some superb playing, Martin.

… it just doesn’t get any better than this (be sure to watch/listen past the credits all the way to the end; “sweet”, “sick”, indeed!):

Sorry, this wins:
He had a handle equivalent to Curry’s:

I think we’re all winners on this thread.
