Bill Hangley Jr. is an award-winning freelance writer based in Philadelphia who has covered news, culture, and public policy at home and abroad. He began his career at the Prague Post in Czechoslovakia, spent several years as a policy analyst for Public/Private Ventures, and contributed locally to WHYY News and the Public School Notebook. He currently writes for Reader's Digest and the AARP Magazine, where in 2023 he was honored by the Mature Media Association for his feature story on retirement home financing. He lives in West Philadelphia.
