The MSM morons mess up a simple story yet again. They manage to report that Bush hasn’t been ‘consistent’ on the termination of life support issue, but manage to imply — completely falsely — that the criterion for removal of support in Texas was the wishes of the family, when in reality the Texas law allows for perfectly conscious patients to be killed over the wishes of their family, for the crime of not having the ability to pay.

Is there any limit to the stupidity and incompetence of the media?
No, don’t answer that!
It’s always good to find common ground with your political adversaries, so I’ll grant Ann Coulter this:
Maybe she was right about McVeigh and the NY Times.
While he was governor here in Texas (gag), he ordered ONE stay of execution. ONE.
The law regarding patients on life support here, as far as I know, doesn’t necessarily have anything to do with the family of the patient not being able to pay. There is a case that’s been ongoing down here regarding another family similar to the Schiavos. The patient has been on life support for over a month and the hospital, St. Luke’s, decided they wanted to remove it. His wife fought it tooth and nail and managed to get a restraining order against the hospital. The law that Bush signed basically says that if the hospital feels that you are past care, and they move to remove you from life support, your family has 10 days (yes, ten) to find another facility that will admit you. If they cannot, the hospital then has the right to remove you from life support. This, my friends, is bullshit. The hospital?! They have the right to decide whether you live or die? Thanks, Governor Asshat.
(By the way, the patient I referred to above has been moved from St. Luke’s. His wife found a hospice in San Antonio that took him in.)
De facto it does — a hospital wouldn’t terminate the life support of a paying customer.
Bad for business!
Tuesday 3/22- Covered the entire thing, including baby Sun who Bush had killed recently in Texas(based on Bushs law). In the story Bush came off like the MOST HYPOCRITICAL MORON …Talk about FLIP FLOPPER. It is all catching up with him. Even his little Scottie seems scared talking to the camera trying to defend Bush and his Texas Decision.
This latest development sure is interesting, isn’t it. Maybe this will backfire on Bush in a substantive way as nothing else has? Hits right at the base of his “mission”. eh.
The Daily Show had that bill featured in the show last night..missed KOlberman last night so don’t know if he mentioned it. He usually is the first besides the Daily Show to get anything like that out there.
And you’re right, no need to answer that question or the air around here might turn blue.
