Here is a wonderful article on what is currently an issue that the Kansas board of Theocracy Opps Education is working on today and for the next six days. Seems that Intelligent Design is the newest form of Theocratic Propoganda to be moved into the Kansas School Science Curriculum.
I am a Believer, not a Christian Believer but a Believer that there is a Higher Power, I choose to call the Great Spirit and I for one don’t want schools to implement a back door in teaching religion in our schools.

This and other things especially related to schools is going to be a bigger and bigger problem, mainly because we’ve not been paying much attention to the infiltration of local school boards by right wing religious activists. We need to start playing catch up.
Thanks for bringing the letter to attention.
I while away the hours at work, when it’s boring, with wondering if we’ll survive this and is so, how we can keep it from happening again. Schools are definitely key-not letting hate mongers and theocrats get one damn inch anywhere. But how to stop them now is the question. Locally, on a small scale it may still be possible. I’m going with broadcasting their most hateful and ignorant statements as far and wide as I can.
You know, I don’t have a problem if schools want to teach comparative religion. But teach them all. I have no clue how they think they can teach creationism, when there are so many hundreds of versions out there. One of my favorites because of its simplicity and poetry is that Source Creator Sang the Universe and all creation into existance.
Not science nor religion has any real proof of how the universe was created or came into being. Both have “theories”, evolution just happens to follow the rules of scientific theory. Where as religion has a blatant metaphor.
Teach science in science class. Compare ALL major religions in a comparative religion class. But don’t pass off metaphors as science nor try to make a religious metaphor out of science.
Update on the religious indoctrination of our school children in Kansas.
Just heard on the local news that the Intelligent design folks have stated that they have proved their issue concerning the many and I repeat many falsehoods and misleading theories concerning the theory of evolution. So they want the religious fanatics who constitute the majority on the Board of Theocratic Education to demand for equal time for ID. Even though they stated in their testimony that there is little if any scientific evidence to support their so called scientific Intelligent Design theory. Well I can only hope that come the next election, if there will be another election. Oh I forgot there will be, because Kansas has a democrat for a governor and the repuglicans want regime change. I can only hope that more moderate and Intelligent people get elected to the board. I for one find it extraordinary that they don’t seem to mind that many universities outside of Kansas are going to exclude kansans from entering their universities due to this religious rightwing theocratic destruction of viable scientific standards.
