It seems as though America is not the only country beseiged by religious wingnuts:
Officials at the Thrissur Hindu temple in the coastal state of Kerala fined the six-month-old’s parents 2,000 rupees ($45) — a hefty sum for an Indian working family — saying the baby had desecrated the temple, the Times of India reported.
Priests also held special prayer ceremonies to cleanse the temple after the incident…
…But the father appealed to the government, which told the temple to give the money back because a baby could not be expected to control its bladder.
WWPDS? [what would pastordan say?]
Does that mean I should pay my fines? When I was homeless, I can’t tell you how many times I desecrated houses of worship, by passing out and well you know. Though I have to admit, there was this one house of worship that I did enjoy desecrating. Seems they were getting a substantial amount of county money to help feed and house the homeless and for some unknown reason, there just never seemed to be enough money to do that, after the church was remodeled and the pastor and his wife received new cars, not just any cars, Lexus, my friends. And then there was the trip to Washington, DC, to lobby Congress for more money to attack the homeless problem in So California. I remember this house of worship well. I was turned away from a meal there more than once, because I was a heroin addict and we only take in alcoholics. Pity, as I knew most of those who were getting meals were using other drugs besides alcohol. Well I was glad to do my business on their steps and basement entry way and any where else I could find to give them my offerings on a daily basis. Needless to say, when I grew in my recovery I rediscovered that house of worship and apologized for my dooty, duty and then promptly reported them to the county for failing to utilize their money to the benefit of the homeless. I am glad to report that the county pulled them from the list of entities that received money to allievate homelessness.
I hope Pampers doesn’t hear about this. They will be over
there hawking their wares.
If it was a boy baby, it’s okay,
a girl baby, oh nooooo.
Hmm…What would I say?
…
…
Um, that’s a mighty interesting story, ghostdancer?
PD,
I have done some truly interesting things and have done somethings that I am truly not proud of at all. I have lived life in so many guises over the years and now that I am clean and sober, I have found Me, the only thing I truly ever wanted to find and the life I wanted to live. Great Spirit has truly blessed me and I walk in grace each day that I live, knowing the that my life is truly a gift.
You’d better hope none of the Bushie trolls call this to the attention of their masters. Next “initiative”: a law allowing churches to fine folks directly just like they apparently can in India. The “Church-State Separation Finance Act”.
Urgent help needed – head just exploded – pieces everywhere!
What would Jesus do…or Krishna or Kali or Mohammed or……
Throw the money changers from the temple not the baby! Throw the wingnuts and their fines from the temple into the streets and bring the baby back into the temple.
I can think of a few places where I’d like to pee.
MSNBC Connected is talking about the Downing St Memo
it’s not all that off topic. I like to think of Georgie as a baby who pee’d on our country.
All of a sudden I remembered the Hindu president or something — the decorative job — who drank his own pee as a health measure. So you can’t accuse them of a lack of diversity of opinion.
Phew! No Bhagavad Gita toilet incidents to report, thank god.
I wonder if we could incite Tom Cruise and John Travolta to destroy Beverly Hills if we all urinated on copies Dianetics?
And don’t even get me started on Atlas Shrugged.
