Andy Stephenson passed away this week from cancer. The Seattle Weekly has a charming, heartfelt obituary:
Stephenson was a red-headed, crackerjack live wire … During an interview, he would simultaneously smoke cigarettes, drink coffee, take phone calls, assign tasks to volunteers, condemn elected officials, and rail against Election Systems & Software, Diebold, and other voting-equipment corporations.
FYI:
The memorial service for Andy will be at Town Hall in Seattle at 1119 Eighth Ave., on Saturday, July 16, at 2 p.m.
Below is the obituary that Geo. Howland of the Seattle Weekly wrote today. He’s given me written permission for the full text to be used and asks that it be posted widely. So feel free to post it on web pages, other lists, blogs, etc.
Ray Minchew has written a lovely diary at DKos about Andy.
of CASEOHio yesterday morning. She wrote the most beautiful letter and was obviously torn with grief. I didn’t know Andy but donated money when I heard that there was someone out there that was fighting and working hard to fight voter fraud and ran for SOS and lost and then found out he was struck with pancreatic cancer. It became obvious to me that anybody who knew him, loved him. I wish I could have met him.
