They are reporting that there was an explosive device on the double decker bus that has detonated. There are no casualties, it blew out the windows on the upper level where the device was located.
Warren Street Station: one explosive device has been detonated… by authorities?… unsure. Reports of 3 more devices being detonated… again, by authorities? There was a “sour smell” detected in one of the closed train stations.
Three train stations and a bus… almost identical to 2 weeks ago. Reports of hightened police activities last evening all over London. They were stopping and searching vehicles… very unusual.
Forgive me for finding one witness description amusing … “There was a kerfuffle on the station ahead, and I saw a colored gentlement with a large napsack ….”
What the hell is a kerfuffle? I love to listen to Londoners speak.
Ahhhh, kerfuffle: n : a disorderly outburst or tumult; “they were amazed by the furious kerfuffle they had caused” [syn: disturbance, disruption, commotion, stir, flutter, hurly burly, to-do, hoo-ha, hoo-hah]

Blair will address the UK about today’s kerfuffle at 10am eastern time. (how’s that?)
Really. It’s so cute and endearing. When I first began listening to BBC News on my computer, I was so enthralled by the accents that I barely paid attention to what was being reported!
They were competent enough to place and detonate the devices… my guess is that it was a demonstration that the bombers could strike when and where they wish, security be damned. This will certainly ramp up the fear many decibles.

Here’s an interesting one…posted by Reuters at 13.24. Still no reports or confirmations of any casualties, and I’m able to view all of the major news wires.
Armed police enter central London hospital
LONDON, July 21 (Reuters) – Armed police entered a hospital
near Warren Street underground station in central London on
Thursday and police immediately cordoned off the building.
“Three armed policemen just ran into the major incident area
entrance of University College Hospital,” Reuters correspondent
Gerard Wynn said from the scene.
“The hospital has now been cordoned off,” he added.
Earlier, emergency services rushed to three underground
stations after reports of explosions.

Police commisioner on now: confirms the details as above. Very low casuality numbers. Transport system closed down for a short while. Londoners to stay where they are. Very serious incident.
BBC Interview: armed policemen ran into the hospital accident entrance. Not much ambulance activity. Sniffer dogs gone into the hospital and around the area. Suggestion that the only injury is to a bomber, but thats not confirmed.
How long before it starts happening here. Wonder how much longer Tony Blair will protect GWB’s lies instead of his country. Hey W!! Thanks for making the world a safer place. Congrats on the fine f’ing job you’re doing you asswipe!
Well, there goes the theory of “fighting the terrorists in Iraq so we don’t have to fight them at home”–which was bollocks anyway.
Fortunately, only one person–not fifty-two–was killed in this latest attack.
I predict that life in London will go on. People will worry, of course, and some may avoid public transport, but at the end of the day, if you are a Londoner you take the Tube or the bus. My sister and her family, and my friends, who are all Londoners, have no choice but to use public transport to navigate through the city.
Remember that England has gone through this sort of thing before with a different group of terrorists, the IRA.
February 1974 – Coach carrying soldiers and families in northern England is bombed by the Irish Republican Army (IRA). Twelve people killed, 14 hurt.
October-November 1974 – Wave of IRA bombs in British pubs kills 28 people and wounds more than 200.
July 1982 – Two IRA bomb attacks on soldiers in London’s royal parks kill 11 people and wound 50.
December 1983 – IRA bomb at London’s Harrods department store kills six.
Nobody stopped taking the train, going to pubs, visiting the parks, or shopping at Harrods because of any of these incidents.
My first question now is: When will Tony Blair be made to answer for his Iraq policy? It is quite clear that just as the conflict in Northern Ireland was the catalyst for IRA attacks, the conflict in Iraq is the catalyst for these attacks. The link is undeniable, and the Mayor of London, Ken Livingstone, has said so–as has George Galloway. Certainly the Spanish public demanded accountability of their government after the terrorist attacks on 11 March 2004 in Madrid, which murdered 191 people and injured 1,800–and I expect the British public to follow suit.
My second question is: How long before similar attacks occur in the United States? And what will the American reaction be to those attacks? I rather think that instead of providing an opportunity to focus on failed government policy, as it has in the United Kingdom, these smaller-scale terrorist attacks would cause panic and give Mr. Bush the excuse he needs to sweep all of his other problems under the rug.
I hope that I am wrong, and that terrorist attacks inside the United States would cause the Congress and the public to ask hard questions of Mr. Bush (What has not been done to prevent these attacks? Why has it not been done? What connection do these attacks have to the American occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan?), but the past four years tells me this is not so.

Is this a copycat? Is this a warning?
Strange. Or was it done by inept copycats?

Thank you so much…. we have a hard time here getting some details because the news stations have to put on their Al Qaeda ex-spurts ..
Seems these were less effective? I haven’t heard of significant injuries.
