What Would You Ask Judge Roberts? is a new website from seven of our eight women Democratic Senators where we can submit our questions. Apologies if this has already been diaried…
Sen. Barbara Mikulski, D-Md., is leading the effort, joined by Boxer, Hillary Clinton of New York, Maria Cantwell of Washington and others. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, a California Democrat and the only woman on the Judiciary Committee, did not attend the news conference to announce the Web site, but Mikulski said it has her full support. No Republican women joined the effort, and Sen. Blanche Lincoln, D-Ark., was also absent.
The women said they expect Roberts to answer questions on abortion.
At least one of my senators is making no bones about it. Boxer said yesterday, “there can be no confusion” about where he stands on the right to privacy. Correct! Let’s ask our questions.
So I’d have to put an awful lot of thought into coming up with a good question that wouldn’t be easy to weasel out of.
Armando over at dKos had a couple of good ones yesterday in this front page story. They are:
Do you believe that the founding fathers, wrote our constitution to be a living document that provides for the changes in our Society and Culture?
Is there an inherent right to privacy provided by the Fourth Amendment and Ninth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America?
I doubt my question would get posted.
“Are you and your wife fucking insane?”
“What about domestic terrorism caused by your supporters – white supremacists, women’s clinic bombers, hate groups – will you be able to judge your “brethren”?
I think you can submit anything you want; I don’t see where they will be posted. All of us should submit our questions to let the Senators know what we want them to do. I’m still thinking about mine, but some will be along the same line as Armando’s posted above.
“What about domestic terrorism cases caused by your supporters – white supremacists, women’s clinic bombers, hate groups, gay bashers, the religious zealots – will you be able to sit in judgement of them?
After all youre wife publicly applauded the bombing of clinics.”
Now… I end up missing… will you all come looking for me? 🙂
A frikken typo! Typical! Saw it as I hit “post” here.
Oh well, they are used to reading King George’s memos which are probably done in crayon.
Thanks for the diary LibraryLil! 🙂
ass off at both your questions, but your last one really strikes at the heart of what I perceive to be the inherent problem with this nominee. I do not believe that he could impose the law of our land upon any who support his theological views.
I doubt very seriously if he even believes any of those whom you cited would be classifed as terrorists, even though I believe a majority of Americans believe they are in fact just that, Terrorists.
most of those in the WhiteHouse depend on the support of those that the rest of us would call Domestic Terrorists.
Not to mention the Environmental Terrorists and those who want to do away with Education.
