HBO’s SIX FEET UNDER
Episode 60: “Ecotone”
9 pm Sunday
“In an all-new episode, Nate brings the family together against their will.”
It was bizarre at the astonishing end of last week’s episode that there was no preview. Talk about being left hanging! Is Nate alive or not? Will Brenda find out where Nate was? AFTER THE EPISODE, let’s DISCUSS AWAY below:

NATE FISHER, played by Peter Krause (pronounced Krau-sa):
A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Peter Krause can be seen weekly starring as “Nate Fisher” on HBO’s acclaimed drama, Six Feet Under.
Peter began to act in high school and although he began college as a Pre-Med student at Gustavus Aldophus College in St. Peter, Minnesota, he graduated with a B.A. in English Literature. He then decided to pursue acting and received an M.F.A. from New York University, where he starred in productions of Macbeth, Uncle Vanya, and Arms and the Man.
Two months after graduation, Peter made his television debut as a regular on Carol Burnett’s hit variety show, Carol and Company, followed by a stint on the hit series Cybill. He was previously best known for his role of “Casey McCall” on the critically acclaimed series, Sports Night.
Peter has been nominated for 2 Emmy® Awards, 2 Golden Globe® Awards, and 2 SAG Awards for his performance on Six Feet Under. He has received 2 SAG Awards as part of the Six Feet Under ensemble.
Peter will next be seen starring opposite Naomi Watts and Mark Ruffalo in We Don’t Live Here Anymore and will make his Broadway debut this summer starring in Arthur Miller’s After The Fall for director Michael Mayer.
Less than a half hour!
you’re awesome 🙂
You’re so nice.
I’m not watching right now. I’m taping it in the bedroom. Then at 7PM I’m going over to Darcy’s pad to watch it while we play with the kitten mittens.
ugh, I can’t stand Nate. Sick of his self-involved whining.
Well, he’s dead now…
HEY! Some of us are still watching on the West Coast! Yeesh ppl!
🙂
I’m all broken up about it … 😉
Nate’s dead.
He’s dead!
I thought they would end the series by killing off Nate but there are (3) more episodes to go. So my fear is that at least one more major character is going to die in the final episode. How can you end SFU without a death?
I have this horrible feeling it’s going to be David. Oh, please! Not David!
BTW: The final dream was fabulous, wasn’t it? The warnmocean as heaven– I loved that.
My predictions:
David and Keith are killed in their sleep by Durell.
Clare ODs and dies.
Brenda commits suicide.
Rico and Vanessa kill each other.
Ruth ends up in a mental institute.
The possibilities:
Claire gets killed by either Billy or Russell.
Brenda dies from pregnancy complications. (Although ending the show with a secondary character’s death seems a bit under whelming.) As much as I like Brenda, she’s not a Fisher.
David is killed in a scuffle between Keith and one of the kids OR David is killed trying to retain the kids when foster care tries to take them back to their mother (this is the scenario I’d bet money on.)
Rico and Vanessa? Nah, I think they are safe.
Ruth? I don’t know– but she does seem to be unraveling. . .
warm ocean. Sorry

Nate kicks bucket on `Six Feet Under’

R.I.P.: Nathaniel Samuel Fisher Jr.
In a TV rarity, and maybe a first, a central character on HBO’s “Six Feet Under” died Sunday, a month before the series’ final episode.
The demise would have been more unusual on almost any other series. But “Six Feet Under,” in its fifth and final season, is a black comedy/soap opera set in a funeral home. The theme of the tart and complex series is the unspoken omnipresence of death in our lives.
“Nate” and actor Peter Krause aren’t really going anywhere. Dead characters return as ghosts all the time, beginning with Nate’s father, who died in the first episode.
Sunday, Nate, who had a brain illness, came out of his coma long enough to tell his wife he would be leaving her upon recovery.
Instead of the proverbial white light, used in each episode in place of the standard cinematic blackout, Nate’s fade-out saw him run in a dream into the pounding California surf at sunset.

of liars and killers, but I had no idea that so many people here watched 6 FEET UNDER. The episode that I first watched was the blow up dolls flying out of the truck and the woman thinking that it was the rapture. I was completely bummed about all the Soprano contract fighting and I actually had some TV time to myself so I decided to try it on for size. I just couldn’t stop laughing, then my husband phoned from another one of those TDY military training school experiences and I was attempting to explain the whole episode to him and he just couldn’t grasp it. When he came home and they did a Friday night replay he watched it with me and pronounced me a sick woman! It is what I save my TV time for and Thank you God for Tivo. I always Tivo it though and watch it before I go to sleep on Sunday. My son keeps me hopping, I’m allowed computer time……he tolerates that, but nothing else. School is going to be tough on the guy when I get a life! So Sunday, thrilled out of my britches and in my P.J.s sonless I turned the set on at 9:00 and found out that it plays at 8:00 here!!! Thank God they show it again later! I can’t believe that 6 FEET UNDER is going away! Can’t they get rid of CatHouse or something else? I will die without it. Life will cease!
