I needed the laugh this afternoon.
I still haven’t watched it! Must do it… am sure it’s a riot. And isn’t it neat that Stewart got that on the show even though that happened only about an hour before he tapes?!
I’m surprised he threw it in. But people would have been disappointed if he didn’t at least mention it.
I’m sure he’ll have more fun with it now that Novak has been suspended and he has more time to fully work out the jokes.
The clip wasn’t ROFLMAO, but it was humorous, especially for a deadly slow Friday at work.
I have ALL the bells and whistles, but obviously SOMETHING is awry in my preferences or something.
No matter, this time — got it recorded. How sad is that. Have to RECORD TDS…
To be fair, Carville’s comments were bullshit. But it’s not like it was unusually harsh bullshit, and not at all beyond anything that someone like … well, someone like Novak would say. And I don’t really give a fuck that Novak dropped the b-bomb, though of course the irony of him saying that on-air is obvious.
But walking out? Yeah, I gotta agree that either (1) he’s really stressed-out or (2) used it as an excuse to dodge more awkward questions about his treasonous behavior. Or some of both.
A man with 50 years in the media doesn’t just walk out because he’s insulted, annoyed, faced with bullshit, whatever.
He only walks out because he wants out.
Novak, quite clearly, did not want to face the questions he knew were coming, the ones about Valerie Plame.
I think he was inebriated. He was really slurring his words.
He also must be feeling a lot of stress. Word is he sang like a canary as soon as Fitzgerald told him he might be an accessory to a crime. He is probably now getting it from all sides including his former friends who are angry that he would not take a bullet for the Bush crime family. He is obviously feeling the strain.
That big copy of Who’s Who sitting on the desk must have also unnerved him. Somehow I just can’t bring myself to feel pity for this piece of shit.
Only Jon Stewart could give the facial expressions this clip so rightly deserves. Novakula knew the silver bullet was coming and flew out to dive into his coffin as fast as he could.
I gotta say this was bizarre… On it’s head it simply looks like a blow up to avoid a question and take a (somewhat justified in my opinion, and ugh at the same time) jab at a CNN foe on a crappy show.
But this kinda stinks of scripting between Carville and Novak… Maybe I’ve been in the media too long and maybe I’m just full of conspiracies… But this almost seemed way too overblown at every turn. None of the conversation fits any logical flow and the only one confused is the corny host.
To me Novak get’s to look tough to his base and takes a hiatus from CNN, Carville looks good to his base– both look like asses to the other side.
This may enhance rage for Novak but I think it does a fair share for Carville as well, and it definitly enhances their standing amongst their (ugh) fans.
No Harm no foul?
I want 15 minutes of fame so I can be a guest on the Daily Show. Is this wrong?
Not at all. But I’m afraid you’d have to join the Bush administration to be ensured a featured segment on the show.
I went back to crooks and liars and saw an earlier interview with Henry trying to get Novak to answer. Novak was “lawyering up”. But he had such an evil sly little grin that he knew something that nobody else knew. Ugly little monster.
Thanks Susan. I think I’ll just start all my mornings by watching the Jon Stewart clip. It’d probably take a month of Sundays to tire of that one.
