I am sorry for the brief diary and I hope Rena doesn’t mind me crossposting this-but this makes it very easy to help.

I’ve had msnbc on all morning and it’s just awful.  My heart goes out to everyone in the area and everyone who has families in the area.

Since I’m involved in dog rescue, I’d also like to point folks toward Noah’s Wish, an organization that exists just to help animals in disasters like this.  I didn’t start crying about this whole thing until I heard about people being turned away from the superdome because they had their pets with them. That broke my personal dam of feelings-I could not imagine turning my two canine and three feline darlings out into a storm.
