I’m busy today with errands and chores. I just wanted to check in and ask who is going to be in Washington DC this weekend? I’m still trying to lock down my arrangements, but I expect to be there and to be staying with my brother. I hope to meet up with some Tribbers and do some rabble rousing.

Well, what plans there are are pretty loose and informal. Keep in mind Will Roger’s statement, “I belong to no organized party. I’m a Democrat.” That said, a crowd of us are getting together at the Capital City Brewery for a good ol’ happy hour (yes, kid-friendly, too) on Friday evening. A bunch of us will be doing breakfast downtown before going to the march & rally, and on Sunday another bunch want to take in some of the monuments & memorials. For the events on Saturday, we’re trying to arrange a good place for more people to rendezvous, away from the WH-Ellipse-Washington Monument area. It would be madness to try to meet up in the crowd that’s expected. But that place & some other details should become clearer in the next couple days.

But my local anti-war group is sending a bus with 40 or so. I tried to extrapolate. I am guessing between 20,000 and 100,000, based on my own “intelligence” or lack thereof.

2 busses from syracuse
2 busses from ithaca
all of which are full, and each city is now working on either an additional bus, or a carpool. (I’m in a syracuse carpool.)
IDK what buffalo is sending, but I’d assume that they have at least one bus.
Oswego is sending a carpool, i dont think they have a bus.
The rumor is that we’ve chartered all the busses in the region. IDK if thats really true, but i DO know that one of ithaca’s was from northern PA, and that made it cost more.
This is probably 3 or 4 times what we (as a region) sent to the innauguration.
