Maybe it was on “Real Time” last night or somewhere else, but they said that 1,000 people move to Florida every day. Is this true? I wonder how many people leave? I also wonder if these are stupid or smart people. It is the Bible belt after all. Will we ever get Florida back in the Blue? I mean I know it was Blue in 2000, but………I also Know that lots (tons) of people are moving to Las Vegas these days, Nevada must also go Blue next time. I can’t believe we have 3 years to go and I am worried about the Red/Blue thing. I still can’t believe G.W. Bush is the President of the United States and the fools put him in there TWICE. Well, the first time it was the SCOTUS the second time it was the fools.
well obviously a tremendous number of Floridians die each year too. And I wonder whether these new stronger hurricanes are going to stop the flow of people to Florida. I know I wouldn’t want to live with category 3-5 hurricanes bearing down on me all the time, let alone pay the insurance.
I think the Dems will see Arizona, Nevada, and Colorado as increasingly friendly states as long as the hispanic voters there continue to vote Democratic. Kerry did not do as well among as Hispanics as Gore did. Not quite sure why. But he still got in the high 50’s.
Florida should be a swing state for quite some time. It will help tremendously when Jeb leaves. He’s a terror with voter suppression.
Great post…i agree..I forgot about all the elderly people who die in Florida. Also something about Gore v Kerry, One, I think the Latinos trusted Gore and he had been VP already and Kerry was looked upon as a swiftboatin, baby killer, from the most liberal state in the union, even though Kerry is Catholic like most latinos. We need a great imigration plan. We need to sweep the latino voters…they are huge out here in the West and they really are great people. I would hate to see the Repugs try and steal them with all their Bullshit and lies. I am hoping the last year under Bush has proved that Repugs will NOT make us safer. And YES..Jeb=Anti Christ. Didn’t they love the Dem Gov before Jeb. Was it Childs? Anyway…Can’t wait till both Bushs names are tarnished, hell I hope the whole family is forced to move to France in shame. Fuck em all.
I love reading Daniel Hopsicker, although I really wish he would abide by jounalistic standards for providing sources. You can never verify most of what he writes, and a lot of it seems like bullshit and innuendo. Still, gotta love that headline.
I have written on legislation coming up for mark up in the House Administration committee addressing the verifiability of the vote previously, and have an update. The Kos community can make some major noise about this and I hope that we do!
To summarize:
Earlier this week, hundreds of you dedicated Kosmopolitans took the time to contact your Congressional Representatives asking them to support and pass HR 550, The Voter Confidence and Increased Accessibility Act.
Rep. Tom Feeney (R-FL) has now introduced an alternative bill, HR 3910, that will further muck up our ability to have a verified vote, all the while conveniently allowing for Republican cover for vote tally manipulation, voter disenfranchisement and fraud. HR 3910 is cynical, flawed legislation that will lead to further voter disenfranchisement, and do nothing to increase the accountability of our elections. It has a neat little “RealID” requirement tucked away in it as well. Sweet, huh.
I wish I had seen and printed this prior to going to hear Joe Wilson speak tonight. I would have brought him a copy!
Wilson spoke to a gathering of Democrats called the Oregon Summit. The speech was thought-provoking and informative. No real surprises on the Rove front, but his discussion of the situation in Iraq made a lot of things clearer for me.
I think we’ll have the video on the web by tomorrow. I’ll post a link when it’s up.
Boo, I was just thinking how grateful I am that the fair is not a competition that I’ll have to judge – and then you pull this. The Bood could probably get away with it, but I don’t think you can. Of course it is a great pic. Maybe not as inspiring as some.
Beeing a Florida geezer myself, I could go on and on – but won’t.
Looks like Karl Rove did break the law, the same federal law that got Martha Stewart sentenced to six months in prison.
It now appears that Rove, President Bush’s political adviser, may have lied to the FBI in October 2003 – a federal crime – when he was questioned by federal agents investigating who was responsible for leaking information about a covert CIA operative to the media.
Delay and Frist in deep trouble.
And now, the evidence piling on from the deepest bowels of the White House – criminal activity throughout the administration. On top of the corruption and cronyism already exposed!
a WINNNNUUUHHHHHHH!!!!

Great pic.
I’d love to see a GOP” chain gang formed out of all the Bush regime criminals.
(I have photoshop on my computer but I have no idea how to do all that cool stuff, else I’d try to create such a picture).
